The women, who have yet to be identified by Beech Grove police, were shopping around 10pm Thursday evening when the two began a verbal argument.
According to a bystander, a woman in a motorized scooter complained to a Walmart employee about the number of carts in the aisles, while the other woman came to the worker’s defense.
After a short verbal confrontation the woman in the scooter got up and pounced on the other woman. That’s when a violent brawl broke out.
But what’s even more unsettling than the actual fight is that one of the women involved urged her six-year-old son to punch and kick the other woman.
She shouted:
“Johnny, punch her in the face! Johnny, punch her in her fuc*ing face!”
With little hesitation, the boy starts kicking, punching and even hitting the woman with shampoo bottles:
The boy then starts to verbally taunt the woman, yelling:
“I’m not playing.'”
“You can’t tell me to stop! Do not even tell me what to do!”
Eventually the fight broke up, although Walmart security was nowhere to be found.
Both women involved managed to leave the store without ever being identified or having their names written down despite all the damage that happened during the fight.
Beech Grove Police Maj. Tom Hurrle commented on the incident:
“It was an avoidable fight between two females that should’ve known better, in front of a six-year-old boy.”
He also spoke about the child’s well-being:
“I worry for the future of this young man, too, if he’s already like that as a six-year-old.”
Officer Hurrle doesn’t appear to be alone in his concerns about the boy.
