CNN Breaking News : V P Biden, Will He Declare His Bid to Run for President Today? (693 hits)

Vice President Joe Biden will be invited to participate in the first Democratic presidential primary debate if he declares his intention to seek his party's nomination as late as the day of the debate, according to eligibility criteria released by CNN. So far, Lincoln Chafee, Hillary Clinton, Martin O'Malley, Bernie Sanders and Jim Webb have been invited to the first Democratic National Committee-sanctioned debate on October 13 at the Wynn Las Vegas. All five of the candidates have achieved an average of at least 1% in three polls, recognized by CNN, released between August 1 and October 10. @ Rob,

I found this in one blog discussing the notion of these unlikely characters being nominated or appearing on any ticket for nomination ... this is from

bumbleshirts says, "They're three very different Democrats, so you would assume sticking them all on one ticket would create this big broad mass-apeal ticket. But then you have to keep in mind that they're each hovering around one-percent each in a primary season dominated by Sanders and Clinton, so while that broad-coalition idea might appeal to many, they're still unlikely to get the nomination. ...Side note: Out of the three, Jim Webb is by far the most qualified for his position. He'd be a great choice for Secretary of State, whoever really gets the nomination. "...

I say that if anything, it would make the Democratic side a bit more interesting in the way that the GOP has a huge buzz!

@ Deac,

I don't think he will. I actually hope he won't.
