Black Americans became African Americans under political correctness, and due to the fact that many blacks have a problem identifying themselves simply as black, because of the negative stereotypes whites emigrants attaches to the words black and blackness. Why do black constantly change their identity to appease other people?
People credit Jesse Jackson for coining the term "African American", however the term "African-American" was used by both Martin Luther King and Malcolm X before Jesse even gained notoriety as an activist.
Personally, I am one who prefers Black American over African American. Black People means People of African descent so its not disowning Africa, but we are our own entity we have a completely different culture we been here too long to be sharing titles. Just like all others in the African Diaspora our nationality is American and our race is Black. With that being said if someone calls me "African-American" I do not get upset or throw a hissy fit.
There is nothing wrong with a person not identifying as "African-American" as long as he or she acknowledges that they are Black. Because historical and cultural nuances are only different due to where the ship docked.
An American child born of Sudanese immigrants is not Sudanese. That child is either an Arab American or a Black American. An American woman born of Trinidadian parents is either a Trinidadian-American or a Black American.
Our own President Barack Obama doesn't call himself a Kenyan-American but identifies as an African-American. He isn't a direct product of the American slave experience. Should he be excluded from using the term despite the fact that he is of African descent? Why is this term African-American so exclusive when we all check the same box on legal documents?
You are wrong about several things, but I will deal with two things you said.
Firstly, you said this “Black People means People of African descent…” You are wrong! The people of Madagascar that the French has colonized are Black/Negroid people, but not from Africa or descendants of Africa! I will repeat what I’ve been saying all along that all Black/Negroid people are not the same people!
Secondly, the name ‘Black Americans’ belongs to the descendants of plantation slaves who are us Black Americans here in White America. What distinguishes us from other Blacks is our plantation slavery experience along with the systemic breeding between the slave-masters and their slaves for 300 years until Pres. Lincoln outlawed plantation slavery in 1865 that the other Blacks did not experience.
Black Americans are a NEW race of people and I am Black America’s first genuine prophet. I know these things because the same God that anointed Moses and Jesus revealed these things to me so that I can educate you all and give you all life.
80% of Black Americans have sub-Saharan DNA today and 17% of us have a European bloodline, 17% of anything don't makeup a brand new anything and definitely not a new race called The Black American.. I know for a FACT that the white man have not stopped being interracial with the black woman because of some President Lincoln, HARRY please. Black people are being inter-racial with whites more and more each day. Black men are inter racial with white women and that is common place to see now, so STOP THAT LIE NOW.
Why have you called 80% of Black Americans PHONY? if we are phony, then why bring a phony people to the MOST HIGH? Did God tell you to bring PHONY people to him? Since you say that Black America’s first genuine prophet, what have you done in 9 years to bring the Black People any closer to God outside of your boasting?

It is neither analytical nor rational to compare the time of plantation slavery when the White slave masters breed them selves with their female slaves to increase their stock of live slaves as to a White man today meeting a Black American woman and marrying her and raising an inter-racial family.

I have no issue with a person being African-American but I do have an issue with a person seemingly denouncing their blackness by saying "there is no color." and expect others to do the same. What a joke and a tragedy all at the same time. A lot of Black American culture was derived from African culture. To suggest you have no ties to either Black or African culture, in all likelihood, actually is wrong. My Blackness is what I see when I wake up in the morning and take a glimpse in the mirror every single day.
If you are African-American, you have Black ancestry no matter what country you were born in. I am Black, my ancestors were Black. I am proud of it. My paternal great grandmother, I am told, was a woman of Black and Cherokee Indian descent, but she considered herself Black. However, I am a woman of Black African ancestry that lives in America, my people were beat, enslaved, raped, mocked, dehumanized, and made to feel less than human because of their Black African heritage. I will NEVER EVER deny nor minimize what runs through my veins to appease a system who can care less if I exist.
Oh, and as "optional" as it is on college and employment applications, SOMEONE is checking those boxes for you if you leave them blank. Don't ask me how I know...I have seen it done too many times.
I think black Americans (not African emigrants) who say they are African-America disconnects themselves from their AMERICAN ancestral land. I know of no black Americans who can trace their ancestry to Africa or African slavery. The ancestors of black Americans are buried HERE in America. Africa-America is a modern term planted in the minds of our people in order to disconnect them from this land, which whites have been working to completely take from our people. When blacks claim African American descent, they imply that they have no rights to this land, and thus, are treated like foreigners.

When I say that I am not African-American, it does not mean that I saying that I am not Black. I am proud of my black heritage. I was born black; live as a black woman, and will die black. But I will not call myself African-American because I am American.

No, I did not watch the video! I am guided by the very things Ms. Demi say and not by other people’s opinionated videos she post to back herself up. I take it that psychologically she herself feels she is not sufficient to convey her own message and that is fine. She avoids my comments and that is because I am too much for her to handle. My book Black Exiles fully supports my comments on this site, and since you haven't read it, you cannot dispute it. I've already opened the floor for you to prove your comments--that blacks were African slaves, but you have yet to give the name of your ancestral tribe, their location on the African peninsula, or name any African traditions, foods or rituals you preserve today, or WHY NO AFRICANS COME TO AMERICA IN SEARCH OF THEIR MODERN-DAY PEOPLE.

I never said that Blacks were African slaves!
This is what I said! I said that Black Americans descendants of plantation slaves are a NEW race of people! This is how Black Americans are a NEW race of people! To begin with all the slave on all slave ships from Africa were all Africans. At this time Black Americans were not in existence. It was Africans that exited the slave ships. White English men purchased these Africans from the slave traders. The White English slave-masters took their slave home to their own plantations and immediately began to breed themselves with the first wave of their African slaves. The first generation produced marked the beginning of a NEW race of people. This systemic breeding between the slave masters and their slaves continued for 300 years until Pres. Lincoln outlawed plantation slavery, but by then the slaves numbered in the mulita-millions, but today we number 41 million.
Consequentially, we Black Americans are not from Africa. We are from right here on this continent and our country will consist of from the northern borders of N.C. into the Gulf of Mexico and from the middle of the Mississippi River into the Atlantic Ocean. This territory is about 9 confederate states that we Black Americans as NEW race of people were bred into existence in 300 years or 15 generations. These 9 confederate states are our HOME-LAND or our PROMISE-LAND, promise to us by God!
I speak to us on behalf of God since God only communicates with me God’s anointed prophet for Black Americans!

What I posted Feb. 8 @ 4:39 is what I’ve always said for the past 8 years proving that we Black Americans are a NEW race of people and I am our first genuine prophet. As our prophet I must know before any of you who we are and how we got here and what is going to happen to us in my life-time.
Black Americans being a NEW race of people was my second revelation. You just join. I been here for 8 years and I haven’t change a NOTE! In my post I said nothing about black albinos! I am not talking about scientists already proves that whites originated from black Albinos. Stupid-ass woman I am talking only about how Black Americans descendants of plantation slaves came into existence. Black Albinos have nothing to do with us. How I said we came into existence is true because history backs me up that the White slave masters kept the female slaves pregnant. The more slaves the master had the more he was worth. The beginning was the African slaves, next was the 300 years of systemic breeding between the slave-masters and the slaves, and the end product was a NEW race of people known today as Black Americans descendants of plantation slaves.
The systemic breeding is camouflaged in movies and written history and mistakenly viewed as rape. We know that when a female slave became of child bearing age it was customary that the mother would take her daughter to the Big-House to be screwed by the master. We know that since the slave masters were Christians the slave were not permitted to have children out of wed-lock and it was the slave master that okayed the marriage. If there was a love affair that love affair was hidden from the over-seer and the master! If the love affair resulted in pregnancy the baby was welcome since it was an added slave, but the boy and the girl was punished especially the boy!
