A VIDEO EVERY BLACK YOUTH MUST WATCH!!! (2752 hits)

Motivational speaker Eric Thomas’s speech to Vashon High School students in St. Louis last month has gone viral over his reaction to a group of students who kept interrupting him.

Thomas begins by telling the crowd his story.

He dropped out of high school and lived homeless in Detroit for two years. His life turned around when he met a preacher who inspired him to go back to school.

The speech takes an unexpected turn when he has to tell a group of students to be quiet several times. Things get intense.

Thomas explains that he gets paid $50,000 to $100,000 to speak to corporate groups. He was doing this for free to help them and wasn’t going to be interrupted again.

“When people love you, you don’t do them like dirt. When people care for you, don’t disrespect them. You ain’t got but a few people who care about you in this world. Didn’t you hear what I just said? If you’re in the wrong place, you’re going to get shot and killed. No one is going to jail for it.

You got the nerve to act the fool when somebody cares about you? You’re talking when I’m talking. Do you know that if I go to a Jewish school, those kids are quiet. If I go to a white school, those kids are quiet. If I go to a Latino school, those kids are quiet. The only kids that disrespect me are black kids.

That’s it, my own, are the only ones who disrespect me. I work in any other school and they’re taking notes. I come home, you’re talking. You’re capping jokes. You think something is funny. Look how we’re living. Ain’t nothing funny. Ain’t nothing funny y’all.

I have my PHD. They’re asking me what’s wrong with urban schools. I’m like why are you asking me? I’m in class just like you’re in class. The teachers and professors want to know what is the problem with the schools.

I’m embarrassed. You want to know why? What they don’t know is that you’re not even trying when you take a test. You didn’t give your best. They think you’re dumb. You ain’t dumb. We survived slavery, and you can’t pass a test? Come on!

I ain’t stupid. You take everything from us and we still survive. You want to tell me that you don’t want to learn how to write? Have you lost your mind? We are survivors. That is all we do is survive.

You can take a test. The problem is that when you do, you barely take the test. I challenge you to go in there and do your best. I challenge you to go into class and act like you have some sense. No one has to put you on medicine. You know how to sit down and shut up. You do it when you’re watching videos.

Listen to me, you’re mine. “

The video concludes: “Always know where you’re going, but never forget… Where you come from.”

Miss Siebra,

Where in this video you advise that Black American youth should watch, but there is no mention of us Black Americans having a country of our own? If there is no permanent solution coming forth then our dialogues are in vain. All that you are doing is regurgitating ill feelings of the pass without offering the right solution!

Remember, A mighty Oak Tree can't stand unless it has deep roots. The Mighty Oak is the Black American and the roots are the knowledge of our history.

HARRY, Ain't nothing funny! did you see this information?

Mr. Ron,

I am not talking about a mighty oak tree! I am talking about what is our permanent solution so that we don't have to be going through this nonsense of repeating ourselves generation after generation like we are doing now.

No one but me has put forth a permanent solution! I said that I will only permanent solution is that we have a country of our own. I said that God is going to hand are exactly 7 Confederate states to become our country!

Harry, we are all familiar with the saying "It takes a village to raise a child". A lot of these youth today have no support from their parents. Many parents only interaction with the school is that of dropping off, picking up their child and coming to the school when their child gets suspended or expelled. They rarely (if at all) attend a PTA meeting or know the names of their child's teacher(s) or principal.

For a lot of children these days, they don't have love, pride, and hope for themselves, their lives, and their future. For a lot of young boys, they think the only way to be Black and successful in America is selling drugs, and all it's going to do is send them straight to jail. Many young girls feel that the only way to be successful in life is by being promiscuous, and having baby after baby for man after man.

Instead of criticizing Eric Thomas, you should be giving him credit for handling the students the way he believes would be most effective for him in terms of getting his message out to them. Obviously, today's children don't get those life lessons, nor the life lessons of Elijah Muhammad. If the parents don't impress upon their children these important life lessons...who will???

Miss Siebra,

I am in total agreement to the gist of what you saying that it takes a village to raise a child! However, this concept is only possible if Black Americans had our own country.

Since we don't have our own country as yet the concept will not work!

For example, White Americans because of this superiority has interfered in how we raise our children by threatening us with child abuse agencies that children come home telling their parents that if they administer corporal punishment they would be arrested and taken off the jail.

When it is all said and done all of you will have to turn your face and eyes to me, Prophet Harry Black America's first genuine prophet since everything I've been saying for the past eight years is true!

We can't use Elijah's teachings since he was wrong to have embrace the foreigner Mr. Master Farad Muhammad and led us into the Arabian Islamic religion, customs and ways and we are not Arabian people.
