Amendment Proposed To Stop Secret Service From Spending Money At Trump Resorts

Democratic Representative Adam Schiff has proposed an amendment to an appropriations bill that would prohibit the Secret Service from spending any of their funding at Trump-owned properties. The Secret Service is running out of money after spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on overtime and travel expenses while protecting Trump’s family – money that is going right back into Trump’s pocket

I knew it would be this fraud of a reporter. So Schiff is saying the President shouldn't be protected while he's on one of his properties. Sounds like a winner, ho ho ho.

President Trump doesn't need the money. He's president, he owns places, he spends time where he wants and the Secret Service protects him. End of story.

You just can't say The Secret Service has plenty of money, just off the top of your head, without any FACTS Steve. The FACT is, that The Secret Service is running out of money after spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on overtime and travel expenses while protecting Trump’s family.

The Secret Service is going to run of money at the end of September to pay 1,00 agent and Farron Cousins is not the only reporter is reporting this FACT.

The Washington Post is reporting the same thing, here take a look. Secret Service says it will run out of money to protect Trump and his family Sept. 30 https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/se...

The Chicago Tribune Secret Service says it will run out of money to protect Trump and his family Sept. 30 http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationw...

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting the same thing: Secret Service says it will run out of money to protect Trump and his family Sept. 30 http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Secret-...

Now here come Steve, who can't see any thing wrong what Trump is doing to this country, you are saying this right off the of your head: The Secret Service has plenty of money. Farron Cousins is a liar.

I have shown you three publications from across this country that makes you the Liar Steve. Where is your proof to back you up Steve.

Farron Cousins can't just say the Secret Service is running out of money, without any FACTS Ron. Instead of putting this dopey windbag on to watch, maybe you should present your FACTS.

Alles cited overall increases to his agency’s staff levels, which grew by 800 this year, as a factor driving the extra costs, calling the issue “not one that can be attributed to the current Administration’s protection requirements alone.”

He noted that the Secret Service in recent years has frequently received permission from Congress to exceed the overtime and salary cap. This occurred as recently as 2016 during President Barack Obama’s final year in office.

Alles called the agency’s current predicament, first reported by USA Today, “an ongoing issue for nearly a decade due to an overall increase in operational tempo.”

Steve Williams
Republican and Democrats said Monday they are concerned about deepening demands on the agency and pledged a fix that could be permanent.

“Mr. Cummings and I have spoken twice this morning about our mutual desire to see the Secret Service funded and the agents treated fairly while acknowledging the difficult and important job they have,” Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said in a statement.

Cummings said in a statement that he plans to introduce legislation that would allow the agency to exceed the mandated caps on a regular basis.

“The hardworking men and women of the Secret Service put their lives on the line every day, and it is a travesty that they are not being paid for the hours they work,” he said. “Congress cannot stand on the sidelines and complain — we need to act to ensure that Secret Service agents get every penny they deserve, period.”

Do some research sometime Ron. The current proposal for FY2018 (what Schiff is trying to amend) for the United States Secret Service budget, is $1,893,215,000. As you can see on pages 648-649.

That's right Steve, it's a bill. A bill needs to be reviewed and passed by both house, the House of Representatives and the Senate and all this must be done before September 30th.

It's eight bills Ron, 1305 pages long. Of course I didn't read it all. September 30 comes every year, the government is funded year by year. Adam Schiff's amendment is ridiculous, to suggest the President of the United States of America should not be protected.

Is Trump making a profit when the Secret Service stay at one of Trump's hotels?

Dea. Ron Gray Sr.
I'm not talking about any damn polls. The polls were proven wrong last November 8 and you'll have to wait until 2018 to next find out what the American people think. I speak for myself Ron, and I say the President is doing fine but Congress is inept. Whether Trump's properties make a profit or not when he goes there, I don't know but it doesn't matter. The Secret Service is prohibited from taking funding from anyone but Congress. The President can't cover their expenses himself. Adam Schiff and you are fools if you think that the President should be prohibited from going to Mar-a-lago, or that the Secret Service should stay down the road at Motel 6 if he does.

Mar-a-Lago (/ˌmɑːr.ə.ˈlɑː.ɡoʊ/) is a resort and National Historic Landmark in Palm Beach, Florida, built from 1924 to 1927 by cereal-company heiress and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post. The 126-room, 62,500-square-foot [4] house contains the Mar-a-Lago Club, a members-only club with guest rooms, a spa, and other hotel-style amenities. It is located on the Palm Beach barrier island, with the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway to the west.

At the time of her death in 1973, Post bequeathed the property to the National Park Service, hoping it could be used for state visits or as a Winter White House. However, due to the costs of maintaining the property exceeding the funds provided by Post, and the difficulty in securing the facility in the flight path of Palm Beach Airport, the property was returned to the Post Foundation by an Act of Congress in 1981.[5]

In 1985, Mar-a-Lago was purchased by businessman Donald Trump[6] and his then-wife Ivana Trump was put in charge of running the property.[7] Donald Trump retained the property through his two divorces and his family maintains private quarters in a separate, closed-off area of the house and grounds.[8] Since becoming President, Trump has frequently stayed there,[9] referring to it as his "Southern White House". It is the 20th largest mansion in the United States.

State Rep Adam Schiff has proposed an amendment an appropriations bill that would that would prohibit the Secret Service from spending and money whatsoever from their budget at any Trump owned or Trump family owned property here in The Untied States or abroad.

This is what this report is all about. Now, here you come with this LIE saying that you don't know if Trump get paid from the Secret Service, This story has been out here since 09/22/2016 and this is 09/02/2017 and now you are acting like this is the first you heard of what Trump is doing most weekends. WOW!!!

Here;s that report: Trump received $1.6 million from Secret Service from Politico: http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/dona...

Here's another report

How Trump Can Make Money Off the Secret Service dated ýNovemberý ý15ý, ý2016ý How Trump Can Make Money Off the Secret Service: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/20...

and still another report.

Secret Service can't pay agents for Trump and his family, report says http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/21/politics/sec...

The only reason why you are saying: "Whether Trump's properties make a profit or not when he goes there, I don't know but it doesn't matter." It doesn't matter, it does matter Steve and the only way you missed these reports is because you got your head, where to sun don't shine.

Here man take some time and get update about what trump has been doing to line his pockets. Take your time and I will not seen you a document that I did not read on this issues.

STEVE, if you don't get paid, you have no profit but if you are getting paid, you are making profit. This you should have learned in BOOK KEEPING 101.

Not so fast, slick, Let us take a look at these words of yours for a moment: I'm sorry that you don't know the basics of business Ron. There is cost, revenue, and PROFIT. "Getting paid" is the revenue part.

Revenue is referring to as sales or turnover. Some companies receive revenue from interest, royalties, or other fees.

For example : "Last year, Company X had revenue of $42 million". Profits or net income generally imply total revenue minus total expenses in a given period. In accounting, revenue is often referred to as the "top line" due to its position on the income statement at the very top. This is to be contrasted with the "bottom line" which denotes net income (gross revenues minus total expenses.) That is revenue Steve "THE BOTTM LINE."

Let us face it Steve, Mar-a-Lago is Trump's property.

You act like you have not read any of those links I shared with you about Here's that report: Trump received $1.6 million from Secret Service from Politico: http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/dona...

$1.6 million from Secret Service, who's pocket do you think it went in?

Saturday, September 2nd 2017 at 7:52PM
Dea. Ron Gray Sr.
Check it out Ron. If I have a hotel room that costs me $50 to maintain and rent it to you for $50 I break even. If I rent it to you for $100 then I make a profit. The point is YOU DON'T KNOW what any of the Trump hotels charge the secret service. Like I said, no one can tell the President he can't stay in Mar-a-Lago, and if he stays at Mar-a-Lago the Secret Service needs to stay there too, and nobody can pay for them staying there except the United States government. Period.

I say that the Secret Service needs to stay at Mar-a-Lago or any other TRUMP property for "FREE" but ask you, if Trump owns Mar-a-Lago so the profits or the bill from Secret Service United States government, goes in who's pocket?

How would the Secret Service stay for free? As far as where the money goes that depends on what arrangements Trump made when he became President. That happened a while ago and I don't remember the details.

It was done Jan. 11 Ron. Do you remember the details? The bottom line is it doesn't matter, the United States has to pay the bill and the President can go where he pleases. Today, President Donald J. Trump demonstrated his dedication to America’s heroes of tomorrow by announcing his second-quarter salary will be donated to the Department of Education. The funds will be used to host a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)-focused camp for students. This announcement is the latest step that President Trump has taken in order to inspire interest in the STEM related areas of study and ensure that Americans are being trained for the jobs of the future...

Since taking office, President Trump has been donating his quarterly salary to initiatives of national signifigance. In Quarter 1, President Trump donated his salary to the Department of Interior, and the funds went to the National Park Service to aid in its goal of preserving our country’s national security.
Saturday, September 2nd 2017 at 10:52PM
Steve Williams
For the past 40 years, every president has placed his personal investments and assets in a blind trust while in the White House, or has sold everything and held cash equivalents. President-elect Donald Trump has made it clear that he does not plan to set up such a trust, which would require that his company be run by an outsider who has had no previous business relationship with Trump, and that there be virtually no communication between the outside trustee and Trump or his family during his administration.

Trump is not required by law to create a blind trust or otherwise divest himself of all business holdings, though many people who will work for him in the government will have to do so: The 1978 Ethics in Government Act exempts the president and vice president from its conflict of interest provisions, out of constitutional concerns about separation of powers.

So Trump says he plans to continue to personally own the Trump Organization, a multibillion-dollar company with business interests around the world, but three of his adult children will operate the firm while he’s in office. This is a colossal mistake. It will produce conflicts of interest of an unprecedented magnitude and create the appearance that he and his family are using his office to enrich themselves, even if they don’t take advantage of the many opportunities to do so. These conflicts will haunt Trump’s presidency unless he changes course.

Have you seen Trump's tax returns?

Sunday, September 3rd 2017 at 12:02AM
Dea. Ron Gray Sr.
I didn't ever and don't now, think the President should divest his business holdings or release his tax returns. He conducted his campaign with his own money, at far less cost than Hillary, flew his own jet wherever and whenever he wanted, stayed at any of his clubs around the world whenever he wanted, and rolled back the fake modern tradition of candidates releasing their tax returns. And won an overwhelming victory last November, is now protected by the Secret Service and flies Air Force One. That's a small price for America to pay, to finally have an effective leader.
Sunday, September 3rd 2017 at 7:50AM
Steve Williams
I think that Trump should show his tax returns to show The American People that he is not compromised and owned lock, stock and barrel by foreign entities like Putin's Russia. Transparency is very important in times like these.

I remember this Trump, before he ran for president, Trump promised he’d release his tax returns if he indeed ran for office. When he ran, he said he’d release them after the Internal Revenue Service finished its “audit.” Now that he’s president, his adviser Kellyanne Conway announced he won’t ever release them because “people didn’t care.”

Conway then reversed course after that CON blew up in her face, to say maybe he will release them after the audit after all, and this chick was probably one more TV interview away from claiming he already released them and “every tax expert said they were tremendous.”

Steve, this man don't want The American People to see his Tax Returns because he don';t ever want the people to know how mush Trump is beholden to Putin's demands.

At this point, it’s clear in my mind that Trump isn’t going to show us his tax records unless he feels like he has no other choice, like this investigation he has been under since day one of his administration, and without those tax returns, we won’t have the basic information we need to unravel Trump’s entanglements with foreign governments, to discern whether he used illegal tax shelters, or to figure out if he’s actually as rich as he claims to be.

How many times will you except this man Lying to you about himself?

Steve, I am glad we can agree, this man don't want The American People to see his Tax Returns because he don't ever want the people to know how much Trump is beholden to Putin's demands.

The question is meaningless for a number of reasons. 1) You really don't know what I except or don't accept, 2) you lie here on BIA pretty much nonstop so you have a severe lack of credibility when you say someone else is the lying, and 3) you use the accusation liar whenever your argument breaks down, as on this blog where the subject is whether the Secret Service is "running out of money" and whether Trump is "making a profit."

Is it not true that the Secret Service has spent tens of thousands of dollars renting golf carts, just golf carts at Trump owned properties, just so they can follow him around while he plays golf?

The Secret Srevice have spent hundred of thousands of dollars overall at Donald Trump owned resorts, money that goes directly back into Trump's profit and that is the reason for this Schiff Amendment.

It's not to make the president look bad and it is not to be a jerk. It's to prevent Trump from profiting off of the presidency, which is technically illegal.

Additionally, the Secret Service is not allowed to accept any funding or resources that Congress hasn't appropriated. According to former Secret Service director W. Ralph Basham, these regulations guard the agency from any possible compromise of its protective mission.
