Gergen: Trump not seen as world leader at G20 Anderson Cooper 360 Speaking about President Donald Trump at the G20 summit, CNN's David Gergen said despite an engaging meeting with President Putin, it was the first time he's seen a US president attend and no longer be "regarded as the world leader."

One thing that's being overshadowed, that this is the first time that I have seen a US president who was regarded as the leader in the past, no longer regarded as the worlds leader. even though, we still have the largest Army, Navy and Air force in the world. WE, the people of The United States has lost that Title under Trump at this years G-20. Why??? Because of Trump attitude and antics. I guess you find that funny too!!!

It's not funny Ron, it's good. We should not be regarded as the leader of rhe free world. President Trump is the leader of America, that is enough.

You are damn right, this is not funny, Steve. Don't you think that if I allies feel that we are weak, the Taliban would think we weak, North Korea would think where are weak, China and the Soviet Union will think we are weak and the possibility of World War III looms closer everyday. All this happen because Trump was not acting presidential. There is nothing funny or normal about what Trump did during the eve of this G-20 summit. You supported Trump from the beginning, you should be outraged!!!

No world leader thinks this President of the United States is weak. That's a legacy of his predecessor.

How do you know what a word leader is thinking Steve? The only one you can account for, is what you are thinking. Here, let us take a look at what happened when Trump took the stage. How world leaders reacted to Trump's UN speech. As President Donald Trump took the world stage Tuesday at the United Nations General Assembly to deliver a speech, world leaders were stoic and quiet, barely reacting to his remarks about their countries. Outside of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted that he had never heard a "bolder or more courageous speech" in his time at the UN, we have no other plus comments.

How do you know what a world leader is thinking Ron? You're the one who claims you know how our leader is regarded. Show me the evidence of any world leader who has said our President is weak.

Steve, I don't know but I read different accounts of what happened at the G-20. By the way Steven, if you are making comment about this statement that I wrote earlier: "You are damn right, this is not funny, Steve. Don't you think that if our allies feel that we are weak, the Taliban would think we weak, North Korea would think where are weak, China and the Soviet Union will think we are weak and the possibility of World War III looms closer everyday. All this happen because Trump was not acting presidential. There is nothing funny or normal about what Trump did during the eve of this G-20 summit." The key word in that statement was " if our allies feel that we are weak." IF!!! Europe Pushes Ahead Its Agenda Without Trump After G-20 https://www.nbcnews.com/news/europe/europe... The outlook from this side of the Atlantic, however, was less enthusiastic, with Europeans viewing the American president as more isolated than ever. What is this saying about our allies in Europe are saying? "WAS LESS ENTHUSIASTIC!!!!" I can't make this stuff UP!!!

They're saying "Europe Pushes Ahead Its Agenda Without Trump". I only care about what Macron, Merkel, and May are saying. They are the world leaders, not the think-tankers.

Because you said this: The key word in that statement was " if our allies feel that we are weak." IF!!! Friday, September 22nd 2017 at 9:42AM Deacon Ron Gray I still want to know what our allies think, not what the think-tanks think.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is in summary what we've been talking about. We will continue with a friendly tone and informal one this evening. Regarding trade and security for both our countries, the fight against terrorism, stability in the Near and Middle East, in Libya or in the Sahel, I can say that we have a shared determination. The United States is extremely involved in the Iraq War, and I would like to thank President Trump for everything that's been done by the American troops against this background. But I would like him to know that I am fully determined to act together with him in this respect -- fully determined. I very much want both our countries in these matters to increase their cooperation in the coming month, because the threat we are facing is a global one. The enemies -- our enemies are trying to destabilize us by any way. And I believe that this is very much at the heart of the historic alliance between our two countries, and which fully justifies the presence of President Trump today and tomorrow in Paris. Thank you. Thank you, dear Donald. Thank you. https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-offic...

Next -- well, of course, President Trump will tell you about it, but he's made a number of commitments, and we're going to be working together, and my willingness to continue to work with the United States and the President on these very major topics. I understand that it's important to save jobs. That being said, we shall leave the United States of America work on what is its roadmap, and continue to talk about it. So today there is nothing new, unprecedented, otherwise we would have told you about it. But I believe there is a joint willingness to continue to talk about this and try and find the best possible agreement. As far as I'm concerned, I remain extremely attached to the framework of the Paris Accord, which has been a major international breakthrough, and it is within that framework that I'm working on priorities, including for the European Union. Lastly, as you know, I never very much want to comment who we are and what we are doing, personally. But I can tell you that this evening, at the Eiffel Tower, it will be a dinner between friends, because we are the representatives of two countries which have been allies forever and because we've been able to build a strong relation which is dear to me, because it matters a great deal for both countries. It will, therefore, give me great pleasure to have dinner together with you tonight.

PRESIDENT MACRON: (In English.) Yes, to answer your question, I will not interfere in U.S. domestic policy. And I think it's always good between partners and allies not to interfere in others' domestic life. PRESIDENT TRUMP: What a good answer that was. (Laughter.) PRESIDENT MACRON: (In English.) And I do believe that both of us have a direct relationship with Russia. President Trump had more than two hours meeting with President Putin during this past G20. So that's -- I had two very long meetings with President Putin, the very first one in Versailles and the second one during the G20. And this relationship is very important. We have a lot of disagreements. We have a lot of discrepancies, obviously, with Russia. But in the current environment, especially in the Middle East, it's a necessity to work together, to work together, to exchange information, to share disagreements, and to try to build solutions. So that’s my relationship with Russia. And we don’t have, obviously, the same relationship as the one with the U.S. But that’s a longstanding relationship with Russia as well, and I think it’s important that both of us have direct discussion and contact with President Putin.

Thanks for proving my point Steve. On the first remarks you said that the Remarks by President Trump and President Macron of France in Joint Press Conference | July 13, 2017 was dated a few days before Trump made his historic speech. When you reread this same report that you sent me the link clearly said this: Trump’s big moment comes Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 when he delivers his first address to a session of the UN General Assembly. Use your common sense Steve, President Macron of France could not possibly know what Trump was going to say some Seven days into the future. Now if you care, just one day after Trump delivers his first address to a session of the UN General Assembly. the same man President Macron of France, feels that he is The president who could change Trump’s mind. Among the many listeners who believed he heard some telling inconsistencies in President Trump’s first address to the U.N. General Assembly was one Western leader who hopes to help Trump resolve the contradictions. French President Emmanuel Macron, who also met with Trump on the sidelines of the U.N. meeting, noted that Trump’s speech contained both isolationist themes familiar from his 2016 campaign and elements that sounded more like a George W. Bush address. Macron believes the isolationist route would be a dead end for the United States, and he said he told the president as much. And, on Iran, climate change and other matters, Macron offered suggestions for how he believes Trump might be drawn into a more internationalist approach. I can't make this stuff up. Here the link The president who could change Trump’s mind https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/gl... Their are more world leaders that share this opinion and you want to praise, who?
