Hillary Clinton: Trump officials' private email use 'height of hypocrisy' By Rebecca Savransky -- The Hill Hillary Clinton went after the Trump administration following reports that at least six officials have used private email addresses while conducting government business. "It's just the height of hypocrisy," Clinton said in an interview with SiriusXM's Zerlina Maxwell, ABC News reported. Clinton also addressed President Trump's attacks during the 2016 campaign over her use of a private email server. "They didn't mean any of it," she said. "If they were sincere about it, I think you'd have Republican members of Congress calling for an investigation. I haven't heard that yet." READ MORE: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/hil...

When will people get it, an unsecured private email SERVER is far riskier than a private email ACCOUNT.

While the private email accounts spurred accusations of hypocrisy from Democrats, there are differences. Mrs. Clinton stored classified information on a private server, and she exclusively used a private account for her government work, sending or receiving tens of thousands of emails. The content and frequency of the Trump advisers’ emails remain unknown, but Trump administration officials described the use of personal accounts as sporadic. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/09/25/us/p...

REALLY, So far, there is no proof of Hilary's private email SERVER being ever HACKED, is there? I see that you have conveniently for got that U.S. computers at The Department of Social Security was HACKED? Now, that Hacking of Government Computers Exposed 21.5 Million American People was involved, back in July of 2015. Did report in the investigation reports saying Hilary had unsecured private email server or a unsecured private email SERVER, their is a difference?

Do you know what a server is Ron? I know it was unsecured because a secured server would have documentation on how it was secured. I know that Platte River Networks neither had documentation, nor had the required expertise to secure a server used for classified information. It took the media at least 6 months to understand the difference between unsecure and secure servers. And how would there be any evidence left after Hillary deleted 30,000 emails and wiped her server, not with a cloth, but with a product designed to leave no traceable data on the server? Ignorance of this subject is understandable, but ignoring one's ignorance is not.

Kushner's use of a private account, however, does appear to differ in degree from the former secretary of state and Democratic nominee, according to the descriptions provided Sunday. Kushner and his wife didn't set up a private server, two people familiar with their email account said. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/ku...

The scandal of Hillary Clinton’s “home brew” email server, as it is played out over more than a year and a half, has served as a Rorschach test for her supporters and opponents. In her critics’ eyes it’s just another example of the Clinton family taking ethical shortcuts and playing by their own set of fast-and-loose rules; her supporters say it’s another example of the hysterical near-insanity that motivates her attackers in which, after millions of dollars in investigations, congressional hearings, FBI interviews and more, the scandal has amounted to little more than a whopping nothing-burger and that is what it turned out to be, NOTHING. Now, the staff at the Trump administration that former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, former chief strategist Stephen Bannon and current advisers Gary Cohn and Stephen Miller sent or received government-related emails on personal email accounts, in addition to two staffers who were previously reported." Did the two staffers get FIRED? Who owns that E-mail company, the Russians?

Of course Ron. You asked was Kushner's email account owned by Russia. I threw your question back to you because we have American companies like Google that he would surely choose from. It was a silly question you asked, does Russia own his email account. Ask instead was his email account secure? If not, I would be the first to condemn it just as I did with Hillary. The fact is that you don't have answers to any of the important questions, was it secure and was any classified or even confidential information sent on it? Instead you want to highlight your party loser Hillary, because after almost year you are still suffering from that humiliating and unprecedented defeat.

I am using one now and it is encrypted and makes it nearly impossible for hackers to access your information. this protection is relativity cheap and cost efficient. I am sure that the professionals who was handling Clinton personal server knew about encryption. Now do you want to talk about the 'height of hypocrisy' in this report, something you know about or do you want to continue to make speculation on things not in this report? While PGP can protect messages, it can also be hard to use in the correct way. Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University published a paper in 1999 showing that most people couldn’t figure out how to sign and encrypt messages using the current version of PGP.[6] Eight years later, another group of Carnegie Mellon researchers published a follow-up paper saying that, although a newer version of PGP made it easy to decrypt messages, most people still struggled with encrypting and signing messages, finding and verifying other people's public encryption keys, and sharing their own keys.[7] Because encryption can be difficult for users, security and compliance managers at companies and government agencies automate the process for employees and executives by using encryption appliances and services that automate encryption. Instead of relying on voluntary co-operation, automated encryption, based on defined policies, takes the decision and the process out of the users' hands. Emails are routed through a gateway appliance that has been configured to ensure compliance with regulatory and security policies. Emails that require it are automatically encrypted and sent.[8] If the recipient works at an organization that uses the same encryption gateway appliance, emails are automatically decrypted, making the process transparent to the user. Recipients who are not behind an encryption gateway then need to take an extra step, either procuring the public key, or logging into an online portal to retrieve the message.[9][10] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_encr...

File or e-mail is all data. Steve, you are using information from a report written in 1999, there have been many up-dates and devolvement's since then. You have no problem with reading my encrypted files or E-mails. Let's get back on topic for a moment. We are talking about Hilary Clinton's using a private sector E-mal server to conduct government business, which have not been proven to be HACKED BY ANYONE, foreign or domestic. We heard chants of "LOCK HER UP!"" Now we have The Presidents Men's who used a private sector E-mail server and now we here nothing, no chants of "LOCK THEM UP!!! That is the "'height of hypocrisy' that you act like you don't see. Why is that?

"Without a certificate you have no assurances that a website you're attached to or an email server you go to is the one you're actually going to," said Kevin Bocek, vice president of security strategy and threat intelligence at Venafi. "There could easily be a 'man in the middle' who could easily intercept communications because they're not being encrypted." Without a proper digital certificate to stop them, bad actors can easily wedge themselves between users and the machines they're attempting to access on a network and, in so doing, collect private information, and possibly even steal credentials such as usernames and passwords. Digital certificates—known more technically as X.509 certificates—are the foundation upon which browsers and servers set up secure and private encrypted channels to communicate. From Jan. 13 to March 29, 2009, clintonemail.com lacked one, Venafi's analysis reveals. Clinton's office did not respond to request for comment by press time. "Longterm access is probably ultimately the worst consequence here," Bocek said, raising the possibility that hackers could have obtained Clinton's compromised credentials and used them to continue accessing her email archive even after a digital certificate was added in late March. The most likely threat though, Bocek added, is spying. "If the Department of State had been eavesdropped on while on diplomatic mission that could have jeopardized a whole variety of activities." In fact, during that three month window during which Clinton's email server apparently lacked encryption, she had traveled abroad. According to a public log provided by the State Department's office of the historian, Clinton had visited countries and places such as Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, China, Egypt, Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Belgium, Switzerland, Turkey and Mexico. "In locations where the countries are known to operate and monitor network communications, like China and other countries, that certainly would be a real threat," Bocek said, mentioning that some parts of the world are "known to have active eavesdropping campaigns." "Given the intentions of some countries, there is a real risk of communications being eavesdropped on and credentials being compromised," he said. John Kindervag, an analyst at Forrester Research who saw preliminary results from Venafi's anaylsis, told Fortune that he considered the lack of a certificate protecting clintonemail.com "a pretty significant gap where systems may have been used but been totally unprotected from a security perspective, and therefore that email could have easily been intercepted and read by even the most amateurish attackers." "It's highly unlikely that a person of that importance isn’t being targeted by people who want to gain access to the computational devices in her possession," Kindervag said. "By the looks of things at first blush," he added, "it looks like it was a significant disregard for basic security principles and hygiene." "You can see from this issue why its important to have digital certificates in use," said Jeff Hudson, CEO at Venafi. "Man in the middle attacks, spoofing, eavesdropping—it proves the point once again that these things are foundational and when not dealt with correctly all kinds of bad things can happen." http://fortune.com/2015/03/11/hillary-clin...

I believe they did Ron. A House subpoena for emails was never complied with. March 27, 2015 Press Release Washington, DC—Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy today issued the following statement regarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s response to the committee’s subpoena. She failed to produce a single new document and refused to relinquish her server to a neutral, detached third party for an independent review of potential public records: “After seeking and receiving a two week extension from the Committee, Secretary Clinton failed to provide a single new document to the subpoena issued by the Committee and refused to provide her private server to the Inspector General for the State Department or any other independent arbiter for analysis. “We learned today, from her attorney, Secretary Clinton unilaterally decided to wipe her server clean and permanently delete all emails from her personal server. While it is not clear precisely when Secretary Clinton decided to permanently delete all emails from her server, it appears she made the decision after October 28, 2014, when the Department of State for the first time asked the Secretary to return her public record to the Department. “Not only was the Secretary the sole arbiter of what was a public record, she also summarily decided to delete all emails from her server ensuring no one could check behind her analysis in the public interest.” “In light of the Secretary’s unprecedented email arrangement with herself and her decision nearly two years after she left office to permanently delete all emails and because the equities at stake involve not only those of the Select Committee and Congress more broadly, but also those of the American people and their right to the full record of her tenure as secretary of State, we will work with the leadership of the House of Representatives as the Committee considers next steps. But it is clear Congress will need to speak with the former Secretary about her email arrangement and the decision to permanently delete those emails.”

Let’s get this done with, folks.” Secretary of State John F. Kerry (April 2013–one year before the creation of the Select Committee on complying with congressional questions about the Benghazi attacks.) “This is the most transparent administration in history.” President Barack Obama (February 2013) “Four Americans lost their lives in Benghazi, and this White House has gone to extraordinary lengths to mislead, obstruct, and obscure what actually took place.” Speaker John A. Boehner (May 2014–after the White House failed to produce Benjamin J. Rhodes' memo to Congress.) “I want the public to see my email.” Secretary Hillary R. Clinton (March 2015–after published reports her emails and other public records were returned to the State Department 18 months after she left office.) https://benghazi.house.gov/sites/republica...

REQUESTS FOR DOCUMENTS OF THE SECRETARY AND OTHER SENIOR STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS While the State Department produced 15,000 pages of new documents to the Committee on August 11, 2014, there were significant and material omissions. This production contained few emails sent to or received by the State Department’s senior staff. In fact, the production included only eight emails sent or received by the Secretary from two email addresses: “HDR22@clintonemail.com” and “H.” This was the first time the State Department produced emails from the Secretary. It was also the first time the Committee became aware the Secretary used a private email account to conduct State Department business during her tenure. The Committee was not informed at the time, or at any time until immediately before media reporting, of the extent to which the Secretary relied on private email and a private server to conduct State Department business, or the ongoing discussion between the State Department and the Secretary and her representatives regarding the return of records. For example, at the time the State Department produced these 15,000 pages of documents, which included these eight emails and pledged a “new relationship with the Committee,” it was known within the State Department that the Secretary’s email records were not on site.54 The Chief Records Officer testified: Q: One of the things that we wanted to talk with you about was when you first became knowledgeable or aware that all or part of Secretary Clinton’s records were not on premises with the State Department. And can you tell us when that was? A: The end of July 2014. Q: And how did you become aware that some of her records were not on premises? A: I was getting ready to enter my new position and one of my colleagues mentioned that in FOIA [Freedom of Information Act] litigation the issue had come up, but I had no idea about the full circumstances.55 Unknown to the Committee and the public, the State Department and the Secretary were taking remedial action to recover her emails from her private server because of the Committee’s investigation.56 According to the State Department’s own Inspector General: [i]n May 2014, the Department undertook efforts to recover potential Federal records from Secretary Clinton. Thereafter, in July 2014, senior officials met with former members of Secretary Clinton’s immediate staff, who were then acting as Secretary Clinton’s representatives. At the meeting, her representative indicated that her practice of using a personal account was based on Secretary Powell’s similar use, but Department staff instructed Clinton’s representatives to provide the Department with any Federal records transmitted through her personal system. On August 22, 2014, Secretary Clinton’s former Chief of Staff and then-representative advised Department leadership that hard copies of Secretary Clinton emails containing responsive information would be provided but that, given the volume of emails, it would take some time to produce.57 In July 2014, Mills contacted Platte River Networks, the company contracted to maintain the Secretary’s server, to request the Secretary’s emails be pulled and sent to her overnight.58

July 8, 2016 Press Release After the committee voted 7-4 to make its proposed report final, Chairman Gowdy made the following remarks to reporters and answered questions: REPORTER: So the report is final? … There’s not going to be any more amendments to the report? So, you’re going to wait until you file, until you get the transcripts released? Am I understanding that correctly? GOWDY: Well, it’s not just transcripts, there are documents. If I tell you that an email existed between Witness A and Witness B, you shouldn’t have to take my word for it. You ought to be able to read it for yourself and you ought to be able to conclude, ‘I either agree with your analysis of that email or I have a different view.’ That has been my position from day one. You’re welcome to draw whatever conclusions you want to draw, but you can’t do it if you don’t have the documents. And I have resisted from day one and I will continue to resist the selective, episodic release of things that they think are favorable to them. For instance, they are obsessed with Sidney Blumenthal. I’m obsessed with the people who actually survived the attack. I think the American people are more interested in hearing from the people who actually survived the attack and can give firsthand accounts than they are Sidney Blumenthal. But that’s the transcript they want out. And that’s fine, release it, but we’re going to release them all, and then the public can judge which ones they want to read and which ones they don’t. REPORTER: Is there any interest, because I know the issue of perjury came up yesterday in the hearing with [FBI Director James] Comey. Is there any interest that this committee is going to expand into that type of investigation on whether or not she perjured herself in front of you? GOWDY: With all due respect to madam U.S. Attorney, that’s our old job. That’s not our current job. We don’t investigate allegations of perjury. We don’t convene grand juries. We don’t prosecute people. What we can do, and what I think any committee, responsible committee, would do, is with all the transcripts – there are more than 100 witness transcripts – if a witness said something to a committee of congress and/or under oath, that does not, is not consistent with the truth, our committee like every other committee has an obligation to refer that to those who actually do investigate what you just cited. But we do not investigate crimes in Congress. REPORTER: So are you guys referring that to the FBI? GOWDY: Referring what? REPORTERS: Secretary Clinton’s testimony. The issue of perjury. GOWDY: She is one of 100 witnesses, and we are going to look, we have former federal prosecutors standing up here and we have former federal prosecutors on our staff. We have an obligation to do that with all the witness transcripts – hers and the other hundred-however-many too. REPORTER: So is there a referral? GOWDY: Not yet. REPORTER: There will be? GOWDY: I can’t tell you until I complete the review. https://benghazi.house.gov/news/press-rele...

I stand corrected, the House and not the senate but I will stand on the FACT THAT THEY WERE REPUBLICANS and they had control of that committee which they wasted the tax payers money to come up with NOTHING on Hilary R. Clinton. Now you notice Steve, you rather talk about a failed attempt to prosecute Hilary Clinton for using private E-mails to conduct government business, then to talk about the 'height of hypocrisy of the president men doing the same thing and not a word from GOWDY to run an investigation on the staff at the Trump administration that former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, former chief strategist Stephen Bannon and current advisers Gary Cohn and Stephen Miller sent or received government-related emails on personal email accounts, in addition to two staffers who were previously reported." on all this happened after the Trump ran and won the republican nominee for president. This is the 'height of hypocrisy' and you want to relitigate this over investigated this over done, BENGHAZI e-mail-gate report. You purposely avoided this subject, so you and your hurt feelings could rehash that old investigation , which still came up with NOTHING, no change, on Hilary R. Clinton, she is still free and you are still pissed. WOW!!!

This is no meeting from the republicans to call for hearings to investigate the Trump administration that former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, former chief strategist Stephen Bannon and current advisers Gary Cohn and Stephen Miller sent or received government-related emails on personal email accounts, in addition to two staffers who were previously reported." Clinton's E-mail investigation is over, get over it STEVE. All this E-mail use happened after the Trump ran and won the republican nominee for president. Why are you trying to run this weak ass interference for these white house THUGS? I really want you to tell me why? I am just curious.

I have no concern whatsoever about the Trump email stories, they're just added noise. I responded here because I think it's funny that Hillary hasn't gotten over her unprecedented campaign an election disaster, and because you Ron needed to be educated about email. I have no need to get over anything, thank you.

I don't need to run interference for something insignificant. These Trump email stories are insignificant. I hope I explained well the difference between private email and a private email server. If you understood great, and if not oh well. All the rest about Benghazi was because you Ron, brought Benghazi into it.
