District Attorney Says Pelosi Home Targeted To Attack House Speaker
SAN FRANCISCO -- The man accused of attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband with a hammer told police he wanted to hold the Democratic leader hostage and "break her kneecaps" to show other members of Congress there were "consequences to actions," authorities said Monday.
In a chilling federal complaint, officials say that David DePape, 42, carrying zip ties, tape and a rope in a backpack, broke into the couple's San Francisco home early Friday morning, went upstairs where 82-year-old Paul Pelosi was sleeping, and demanded to talk to "Nancy."
"This house and the speaker herself were specifically targets," said San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins at a Monday evening news conference announcing state charges against DePape, including attempted murder.

According to SFPD "RP [Reporting Person] stated that there's a male in the home and that he's going to wait for his wife. RP stated that he doesn't know who the male is but he advised that his name is David, and that he is a friend," the dispatch official said. "RP sounded somewhat confused."

Steve, this is what The San Francisco District Attorney's office announced a slew of felony charges against 42-year-old DePape of Richmond, including -- attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, residential burglary, false imprisonment and threatening the life or serious bodily harm to a public official. DePape also faces federal assault and attempted kidnapping charges.
The DA's office can't be trusted Ron. I know this from my own unfortunate experience. After Jesse Watters broke the story about the cameras WAPO has picked it up now. They are making excuses why no one was watching the cameras. There is lots more information they are still trying to hide Ron but the truth will come out.
