Let’s reflect on Southern Soul, Trailride, Line Dance, and Hip Hop, music that should be in every radio station playlist! Gatekeepers, yes every radio station in America.
New music should be streaming, we are all sick of the “Gatekeepers†set the music Free! We no longer want to hear music we heard as a child every second on radio!
When asked what is “Southern Soul†many don’t know it’s a “Genre†of Music. Whereas the mixture of “Trailride,†“Zydeco,†“Line Dancing with the Fans,†and Hip Hop are all “separate†sub-genres that are often combined in the music of Southern Soul.
Additionally, many VJs/DJs and industry leaders believe the “Southern Soul Genre†has reached its target audience - which is specifically a younger demographic. As well as the influence of line dancing, rodeo style theme events, and shows.

Boots on the Ground (803Fresh) is making his mark on the music industry, having recently performed at the “BET Music Awards†many suggest the “Gates Are Open†we really hope so!
Yes, there are a few artists streaming on “radio†but the vast majority of talented artists continue to not been granted access, and hit the road every weekend seeking to be discovered.
Fake people continue to down play major players while others come onboard not realizing it’s a trick! Once they use you or your platform and you wake up they move on to the next vulnerable player!
To everyone with a desire “please note†we don’t need anymore radio platforms or podcasts, we have too damn many. If you should pursue please keep your platform professional with valuable content, or you will not be seen as revolutionary!
Facebook changed “LIVE†Streaming by limiting storage to 30 Days and deleting prior “LIVE†streams from its platform. So now you know all the live streams you created after 2020 are considered “garbage content†and clogged up the system.

The genre of “SSM†has been streaming for years however its the latest craze with “Rodeos,†“Cowboy Boots,†Trailrides,†“Juke,†and “Hip Hop†influences that has the sub-genre affiliates popping across the country. The industry is excited about the re-creation of the 1990s hip hop rappers, cowboy boots, and line dancing, in building a brand and music legacy for our future generations.
As we look towards the future of the SSM genre, many industry experts suggest the genre has never been able to flourish alone. In addition, promoters rarely mentions “Soul/Blues or Blues,†when promoting events which previously catered to an older demographic.
Since the beginning of the movement the genre has been unable to form any type of alliance due to greed, and or egos amongst the “gatekeeper.†Also the lack of respect for everyone that has and are involved with “SSMâ€continues to undermine the integrity of the southern soul movement.
Today across America there are award shows, concerts, music conferences, and events popping up simultaneously. All indicating they are affiliated with “SSM,†but in reality they are not associated with the Southern Soul Music.
We will continue to elaborate “STOP†relaying on promoters or someone else to promote your product or brand. We are living In a digital world everyone should be self sufficient and able to manifest and develop themselves. Basically, if it doesn’t elevate both entities, then don’t consider the partnership.
The summer vibes are upon us this summer is already blazing across the South Region with trailrides, and local community events featuring some of the best “SS†artists. These free local events gives an artists the opportunity to share their talents with their local community in an effort to promote the artists. In addition, these types of events help the artist build a dedicated local audience since demographics are crucial to the longevity of “SSM,†and the movement.
