On this past Sunday, I was robbed on a NYC train coming home from a double shift. Exhausted I sat down to read and soon found myself asleep. i awoke to a touch on my shoulder. Before I knew it a guy was snatching my chain off of my neck. As he struggled to grab my chain, i fought bac. He was not as successful as he would have liked because he left the train with a piece of the chain. The chain broke and I ended up with majority of the chain. Bloody and shocked, I was devastated. The train was full with people and no one helped My cries of despair went unheard. I sat in awe, calling my family and the police I was unsure of what would happen next. A Black man, that I see regularly on this train mugged me. I am pissed off that after all we have been through and after all the battles that our fallen heroes have fought, my people are still hateful and bitter towards each other. When will it end?????

Shakira, first I am very sorry that happened to you. I live in NJ but I'm in the city all the time and I know it could happen to anyone. It may help to remember that in America its about "getting mine" from the White House to the ghetto. Its an infection in this country. That was an infected brother who robbed you. I'm afraid that as more people loose jobs and the economy worsens, so will the crime. There are wonderful black men out there so don't let one with a problem cloud the whole picture. When I was a teenager a man pulled a gun on me and a bunch of older black men down the street did nothing to help. Hang in there, be safe and don't let this kill your spirit.

Although it's difficult to be a robbery victim, it's a blessing that you're safe. There are many who would take your life for a few dollars worth of jewelry. As for your assailant... God is always just. He'll reap what he's sown in due time. Stay strong...

Hey, I'm so sorry you had to experience that. But be thankful you still have your life and try not to take it personal. Blacks still are not fully aware which is why education is so important. Let this be motivation for you to help out our people more. Like Mr. Carter said, stay strong!

My prayers go out to you and thank god that you are ok. Today, things are just dangerous & not getting any better. When I walk down the street I am not afraid of a white man robbing me its my own brothers & sisters who will get me. I hate to say this, but it is true.

Black on Black crimes will permanently end as soon as we become a sovereign people in a country of our own before I pass away. Black Americans are due to come in to the territory from the northern borders of North Carolina into the Gulf of Mexico and from the middle of the Mississippi River into the Atlantic Ocean. We need this territory and space to civilize ourselves. We cannot civilize ourselves in White America. There are a lot of circumstances that goes into why Black Americans behave as we do and it’s all due to White America. The people that Black Americans are White Americans made us that way. Black Americans are not hateful people!
