Hello my name is Brother Marcus and I host an Internet Radio Show called, The Brother Marcus Show. We are on the cutting edge of trying to share the thoughts and opinions of black folks throughout the world. We have a show coming up this Sunday at 8:00 p.m. and our show topic is, "What do women really want and need from a man?" I'm asking women to share their opinions at this site and God willing I will read them live on the air on Sunday. Thank you in advance for your kind participation! He must be god centered. He must be honest, sincere, independent in thought, faithful, family oriented. A mama's boy is okay as long as mom is not an obsession. He must live a balanced life between work and family. He must be compassionate, charitable, forgiving. willing to resolve issues quickly, understanding, patient, tolerant and a good listener. A good listener listens with their heart with a discerning spirit. He must be the emotional support of the woman and allow her to run the household. If he is to lead, he must have direction and know where his family is headed. He must be in the home and not just occupy it. He must partner with his wife. Make joint decisions, have no secrets. Be open and honest. If all this sounds like Jesus, it is.

Personally, I want a man who knows his role according to GOD because that is where all the problems come from. The man is suppose to be the head, he is suppose to lead his family, men don't get that, and it comes very hard to them to put GOD first. Maturity plays a huge role in a man's understanding of GOD and his laws, and most men these days just don't grasp that, in other words they need to just grow up. If they could just work harder at trying to understand what GOD wants of them. I feel more marriages would work, and people would naturally be happier if everyone (men and women) worked harder at trying to understand what GOD's path is for their lives (and not what makes them happy). Our sons are falling by the wayside because there is no leadership. No one wants to go to chruch anymore, and all the church folk are hipocrites....PLEASE we are all hypocrites at one point and time because we are human. We all make mistakes, GOD knows this and he understands, and he has made provisions for it (its called communion), its people who won't forgive mistakes, not GOD. If we'd just follow the bible's lead we'd be much happier people, and men would know their roles.

Brother Marcus!
Men and women should, in this day and age, be willing to submit to assessment and evaluation (dating) before jumping into bed with one another. Rape is no more...its we did it and it was good so...its ok...you know like we own the marks that we make in our lives? We also own that that we have done with ourselves. What does a woman want? Most women want to play the field just like men do. A man senses this and has s*x with "his woman" right away. Why? Is what I would like to know. Above and beyond the yelps, warnings, asking and simply saying, "I like your company! Let's just walk together for a while. Let's become friends! Let's span the skys together and forge the seas..." Honestly, all joking asside, a woman wants a man that can take control of any given situation, but not instantly assume he need to rescue her. A man that is strong in his convictions, one with a purpose. A man that makes all other men pale in comparison by being vulnerably honest and open. A man who looks to his own reflection before pointing a finger at another's critisism as blasphemous. One who understands that HE is the only one who can change who/what he is, if in fact that is what he should do. The best offense is a good defence, and viceverse, right? A woman wants a man who is a little less offended and defensive. (with her at least) Two becoming one doesn't just mean procreation. It means knowing each other inside and out. Marriage is not two looking into each others eyes, it is looking together in the same direction. GB

I don't want much from a man. I just want to him to love, cherish, and respect me. Its so simple but some men can't even do that right. Someone that can be my friend and my lover. A man that will be a man. A man that will be everthing I'm not.
Good luck on the show Bro. Marcus I hope it goes well.

CP you funny! You are right, though. Praise God a little goes a long way. Amen!? Janet Jackson asked a very good question, "What have you done for me lately?" A woman will be more apt to submit to her man's advances if he will do something for her...without being told to do it... like helping out with the househld chores and duties, or any other thing that takes some of the baggage of life off her shoulders. You would be surprised what a full load of dishes can "pay" you, guys! Perhaps the man can cook dinner tonight? How about taking the kids to the park and let Mom have a quiet bath alone? You men are more creative than you gie yourselves credit for. If it's "corney" sounding to you, we just might like it. And ladies, cut the man some slack! If you see that he's at least trying to please you, but hasn't yet succeeded, let him know you are at least paying attention. It'll work wonders for allowing open and honest communication that leads to real solutions that work. GB

Brother Marcus!
Just wanted to add light to my previous statement, "a little goes a long way."

Think about it, God moved, only moved, before He ever spoke a single word. What can we learn from that action?
When He spoke, He kept it simple and to the point, "Let there be light".
He did it all in a week! Are we as "fruitful" as we ought to be?

I leave you with something I heard Zig-Ziglar once say. Attitude is contagious. Bad moods can turn the whole room dark and gloomy. But a smile, a simple smile, can change the course of a day. (paraphrased)
Thanx to all who have commented! GB

We want what we need. The real question is, are we willing to confess?
