Somewhere I read an analysis of how a "blue collar" workers read: (white, lower middle class , poor and middle class) would vote against their own self-interests rather than "aid" a Black person in securing any perceived or actual benefit, that they themselves will not. This does not apply to a white candidate. The mindset is not to help a Black person succeed even if that success translates into a benefit for themselves. In order for that to happen the benefit would have to be concrete, guaranteed and huge. A tall impossible and ridiculous order and still not guaranteed. Why? the emotion of racial hatred is strongly rooted in brain chemistry. Obviously if you are not diseased and you are relatively normal you will look out for your own interests.
So let's talk about twisted thinking. I had blogged under the title of Kids on Fire a training camp for the new political force made up of Evangelicals. Thirty million strong.
Those kids were deliberately groomed to ensure that right wing interests remain strong in America.
Today Jody Hice: Pastor of the Bethlehem First Baptist church will defy the United States Department of Internal Revenue by preaching politics from the pulpit. But what kind of politics? to ask voters to vote for John McCain.
In doing so he is willing, as I stated earlier to have his church shut down,going against his best self-interest, for violating the 501(c)3 status of churches to not use the pulpit to support political candidates or parties. 35 religious leaders in 22 states,white and posed to break the law. Stay tuned.
