HealthCare Talk is Good, but, unfortunately cheap! (335 hits)

Connect Platform is a cool thing.. You get to meet and know about a lot of stuff and a lot of people. I recently got an invite to the Health Consciousness website Connect Platform hosts, and it's all about healthy living, lifestyle, etc... It's great.

However, here's a brass tacks thing to look at with all this healthy living talk, as we try to walk healthily... it costs money. And if you're not covered by your company, or Medicare... you are in a tough spot! Depending on the state you live in you may not qualify for publicly assisted healthcare (aka Medicaid)!

And if you're an independet business owner searching for health insurance, you know that as an African American, no matter how healthy you live, you and I are consdered "high risk" and pay high premiums to get decent heathl care coverage!

Some say Universal Healthcare is the answer. I don't think so. Universal health care requires ACCOUNTABILITY on behalf of those that provide for it, and we have ample evidence that accountability is not high on the list of priorities amonst our biggest companies.
Affordable health care MUST go hand in hand with knowledge about healthy eating habits, and exercise.

Without affordable healthcare, you're gonna be hard pressed figure out why your body's flipping on you even as you do everything you know how to do as a layperson(not a medical professional) to take care of yourself!

something to think about

Here is a patent that I hold to fix the global healhcare crisis overnight. I am currently marketing this idea...
***************************************
The solution to lack of healthcare is America is surprisingly simple! The majority of the 46 million uninsured don’t lack want…they lack access to affordable healthcare.

This same group has access to other recurring bills: cell phones, cable TV, Visa/Master card, utility bills, etc. If we simply link the uninsured-to the- service provider- and connect the – healthcare provider…the issues solves itself. If the service providers (cell phne for instance) offers their current services AND healthcare coverage...the prices will drop by ~70% for all and most would have overnight access to much cheaper healthcare.

Moreover, many of the service providers (Sprint, Verizon, Cox cable, etc) already offer insurance to their own employees and wouldn’t need to make any changes to implement this new paradigm.

that's an interesting theorem doc, but how to market such an idea? I mean, it's confusing enough trying to get and keep the cell phone plan that best fits your budget and needs, so how does one tack on a health care plan(or variety of plans) into that bill and still make it easy to use? I'd also like to point out that the insurance compaines also have the power cards in this debate. According to an article I read recenly in US News and World report, a lot of vital, life saving prodecures and medications get turned down on the whim of the insurance company!
