This weekend is loaded with lotsa stuff goin on. So fo ya'll non-southerers, no offense meant...I thought I give you a lil touch of news and events.... I believe that poetess in me is sneeking out.. Ha!
SATURDAY DRESS UP SHOW--WITH REAL "Blue" CHAMPAGNE
Place: Memphis, TN
Event: The Blue Champange Fashion Show
Time & Location: 10am-5 pm Memphis Heritage 2232 Madison Ave
This lil' event will feature beautiful designer gowns and pretty clothes. Southern Belles will be modeling these luxury pieces and looking goregous! And if you can't picture that, then take a sip or two of some that "blue champagne", you'll see it all in living color! I suspect that they'll have a price, but I didn't get that lil' news yet. It's only for one day, and that's Saturday. Cheer's for Old Lang ....oh it's not new years yet!

THE FRAYSER FALL FESTIVAL--20TH YEAR
This is one of the communities in the Memphis area called Frayser, and they are hosting their own festival. This neighborhood knows how to throw a party of a fest. This is their 20th year of doing this kinda thing. The festival will be held on the grounds of the Ed Rice Community Center 2907 North Watkins, in Memphis. They will be saloooting...Not shooting...Special Honorees. Rapper groups and personalities such as Player Fly, and Frayser Boy will perform. Sounds like a real hip hopper. So bring your hip so it can hop! Guess what? This is a FREE show! So show up and have a great celebration.

THE HERNANDO MUSIC FESTIVAL--OCTOBER 04, 2008
Down the highway bit from Memphis, is a little place called Hernando, MS. Hernando is playing host to it's Hernando Music Festival. Live music and bands along with a fest of a town. Population: Not too many people, but if you like small town festivals drive down 61 and you'll run into Hernando. There will all sorts of things to do. The festival begun yesterday and runs thru tomorrow. There is a ticket price: Advance tickets were $12 and tickets at the gate for the music is $15. I didn't get all who's on stage but, remember this is a Little Southern News. Be mericful to me...Please,... with sugar on it?
DRIVE A LITTLE FARTHER....WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN.....
ST FRANCIS OF ASSISI IS HAVING ITS ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL
The Parish of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church will hold it's annual fall festival on October 4 at the church. Get saved! Get something to eat, Get there! Just imagine this festival cause as hometowns do it .....This is THE BIG TIMES! There will be dunking booth, ... to wade you in the water chill'en. A bottle throw, to get rid of that old life of drinking, and Mexican Food! "Si Amigos! esta es mas por vistas gusta usted" Que' dice? Ahh..ha! There will be a silent auction, cause Silence is Golden. And the auction prizes are a "Homemade Quilt and Basketball"....AHHH!.... "Now that's the way I like it!" So sweet are hometown festivals. You can attend it free. Take Hwy 15 S. to the town of New Albany, Mississippi. "Show nough good news?" Amen.

THE TALENT SEARCH DREAMERS SHOWCASE-OCTOBER 4-5TH
If you all can sing, dance and show your stuff on the floor live. Attend this showcase if you're not over 35! Which leaves me out. (I'm Sobbing!) Anyway, ("sniff") the location is at the Cook Convention Center, Downtown Memphis between 10a.m--2p.m.. There may be an entry fee, but I feel they will have some kind of orders of pricing to this spectacle of talents! You can get a little more information if you live locally by visiting this web site:

THE POETRY SOCIETY OF TENNESSEE ANNUAL FALL FESITVAL- OCTOBER 4-5
Got to be there. Cause, I'm part of the society. We are hosting of fall festival as well. Tonight, I get to dress up in my favorite costume and attend it's annual dinner. Then tomorrow morning starting at 8:30 the poets will meet at the Holiday Inn on Central Avenue for a day of poems, speaking and breakfast buffet, and dinner again. I'm full already! Sure, I admit I just go to eat, and I LOVEto meet poets and poetesses locally and in surrounding communities. I enjoy it every year. Do I look like Pocohontas? "This show is a nice time."

THINK HARD AND VOTE DRIVE-- VOTER'S DRIVE--OCTOBER 4, 2008
The Students of UOM (University of Memphis) will be hosting a VOTER'S DRIVE Festival! For people like those who haven't registered to vote. Right on the campus! So if you want to get your vote ON ...Do be it there! If you don't live in Memphis, I'm sure there's somewhere in your town or city, people just these are signing up folks... Find your place, sign the paper, and vote you cute llitle thing you! OOOOOh Wee!
