Black Voices reports that four students have confessed to hanging a likeness of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama from a tree on campus. Brad Lau, the university's vice president is reported to have made this statement, “Regardless of the students' intent, the image of a black man hung from a tree is one of the most hurtful symbols of racism in American history”. This statement is so very true. The FBI is investigating whether any civil rights were violated. A FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele is said by Black Voices that a criminal investigation will be much more rigorous than the academic one.
