My people,
Yes, if you did not know, our own people fought and died for us to have the right to vote. In the 1960s, most of these deaths and beatings occurred. However, the deaths and discrimination go further back.
Look into history and find out more. Do research and study Voting Rights. You will find information that will shock you and/or inform you about what your forefathers and foremothers experienced to get us to this point.
So why not vote on November 4th to help elect a brother who follows the legacy of Abraham Lincoln and The Distinguished Frederick Douglas??
Push your community to know this. Share this information with people you know who could be informed and encouraged.
Since they died, we OWE it to them to do all that we can to get out and vote for Obama. They will be proud of you and Obama once the brother is elected our 44th President.
Let their legacy live on and Dreams come true. Help someone get to the polls if they need a ride. Sponsor community carpools so people get to polls safely and with dignity. Encourage your neighbors to do the same. Speak to your friends and family about this.
They died, so we cannot say "We tried." Let's say, "We did!!"
