The sacrifices we have to make..can we all come together just this ONCE? (1857 hits)

Getting my head ready to ship out to Columbus, though tomorrow I will go to Philly for the day to help where I can. The picture insert is of a sister I met at the District Field Organizer meeting. Like us, she is accomplished, like a lot of us she is a caregiver for her mother who is 101-years old. She is in Philly, helping on the campaign.

We are talking the talk and walking the walk. Why does everybody keep saying..what are you doing about it? meaning why we collectively talk and do nothing. I have heard all kinds of things. ..I can't donate $5.00..I don't have time for Obama..etc. At the end of the day, those of us that could did. When it comes time to talk the talk we CAN back it up.it

So let's get on board..last stretch it is not too late, everybody in Ohio should at least give ONE day to help out. One day. This man is carrying the hopes and dreams of a whole "race" on his shoulders!!

People who live in the neighboring states, transport over to Ohio for ONE day or more.
Maybe white folks are better organizers. Maybe white folks know how to put differences aside and work together for the good. Maybe if I saw more of us involved I wouldn't have to write this blog.

I can hear James Brown saying "Get Involved" specially in light of the recent developments. Obama is asking us to do what we can to make our dreams come true for America.

Yes,thank you Irma..I did send you a message..nursing homes, hospitals, shut-ins,I also commented on the disparity of whites versus Blacks on this campaign..You gotta give to get..you have to put something in to take something out..if not as far as I am concerned it's a handout.when people start asking what is he going to do for me? I am going to respond, what did you do for him that gives you the right to say to him, you are accountable to me? sometimes I wonder..I really, really wonder..

This blog is needed Marta- don't get weary! We are running the race for our ancestors who endured the horrors of slavery and its aftermath, this generation and those yet unborn. Together we can make a difference for all mankind all over the world. Victory is within sight- this is a special generation and time like none other before. Forty years after Dr. King's death we are about to enter the promised land. As Harriet Tubman would say, "don't look back and keep goin'!
Stay Blessed!

Thank you C. Joyce..just helping with an encouraging word, while we are in the battle field..gives us the strength to carry on. I KNOW what this election really means..and I have duly noted that you do as well..I know his campaign advisors are on the case..and I also know we have to have their backs..Obama's victory depends on us "the little people." Thank you again, I AM NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT, yes I get weary..despite people depending on me, for their care..I still have to soldier on. When I thought it was hard for me ,with mom almost 93-years-old , I meet someone whose mother is 101 years old!! and she is making the sacrifice. Thank you my sister in the struggle.

Hi Marta, please look at this article in my local paper(on your computer) the Appeal-Democrat, 10-10-08. The article is by Ryan McCarty "Obama gives hospice patient hope". It is about the local hospice allowing the nurse of one Della Hubbard, 73 to go to our local community college and help the students regrister to vote for the first time. Her nurse says this is very unusual for a hospice patient to be interested in Politics. Della is going to make sure that the person she knew from the begining was going to win, wins.

These are touching storys and Della is white. There is just something about this is the time and the place for Obama as the hope for this country. So please check this story out will you?
