Can someone tell me how one person can purchase $150,000 worth of clothes in the span of two months? Well that is what Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin has been reported to have done. I have a problem with that, especially in light of her running mate's defense of "Joe the Plumber" and others like him.
Evidently, Joe the Plumber had a problem with Democrat Barack Obama's plan to levy more taxes on those individuals making over $250,000 per year. To hear McCain and Plain tell it, the Obama Plan is "socialistic" in nature. He thinks this burden (i.e., higher taxes) should be bourn by middle-class Americans.
I think individuals associated with the Republican National Convention are missing a few screws. How can you have your candidates defend Joe's interest while spending in two months what a senior executive makes in one year. That's ridiculous.
Yes, we do live in a materialistic society, one that has a growing preoccupation with the bling-bling. But if McCain and Palin believe the next presidential administration will need to cut spending to get a handle on our 10 trillion dollar deficit, then they need to start this process by cutting spending within their campaign. These purchases were reportedly made with taxpayer dollars. So, ff you ask me, Palin's spending spree is no different than the pork-barrell spending that these Republican presidential candidates vow to never do if they make it to the White House.
What do you think?
I look forward to reading your responses.
