WHAT IS IT?... AN AWFUL GIFT! IT'S MY SURVEY!
I conducted a AWFUL GIFT survey.
Speaking with only Black Americans in Memphis, I asked:
WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THOSE AWFUL GIFTS?
This is what Black Memphians said to my question:
I found that 25% of my surveyers said they keep them for a while then give them or throw them away. 50% said they tell the presenter they broke it or something else happened to it. The other 25% was not willing to tell all --but indicated they disposed of the gift in some discret way; or; asked the presenter for the receipt to return it in exchange for something they liked better.
There's hope:
Not all the time family or friend will know exactly what you like...bear with them, it's a good practice to give them a list of your favorite things to avoid the situation of receving a gift you feel is awful.
