Out of many years of battle of the books-- the bible has been excluded from public schools as part of it's curriculum of studies. Now there is a proposed bill waiting in congress for Arkansas Legislature to consider the a new bill to allow the bible be a study course of class in the State of Arkansas schools. The school districts would be allowed to have the option of permitting bible book and bible based studies as part of the Arkansas school's curriculum. Most local politicans feel that it is a faboulous day in waiting and feel assured the bill will pass. Presently, Arkansas is the only state with such a bill in waiting.

There are objective views to the new bill, most seem positive --but there may be an outpour of those who are not in favor of such a proposal for school studies as regarding the church and state arguments which may have a conflict to
The Good Book. ....in waiting.

This is Not too much odd of a story, but slightly odd
that the Bible simply won't go away....The argument of Church and State has much more...

See you around...

If they use the bible in school they should also teach the history of the bible, as a collection/revision of ancient thoughts/writings and political motivation. Now that would be an interesting subject.

I am in favor of bibical teachings and of course the student has the option of being a believer or not... I think all of it should be included too referring to it's history and all those great ideals you've covered. Perhaps other states could follow? "Well..I just sayin'" It's a thought.

I'm currently reading I Maccabees, included in the original KJV but not the current KJV one now gets from the bible stores. This is one of the things I find most interesting. And what other writings were not deemed to be included in the bible, in ancient times.

Forgotten books of the bible are interesting and there's much history stored in those books. I've only nudged at a few forgotten books and I was just overwhelmed with so much as far as history and many stories of persons and lives of others during that time period.. I have to find that again.... I can see why you'd find it interesting. You have a far interesting journey Steve, but I think you'll come away with much additional knowledge. I'm not mad at ya!...Go for it!

Miisrael, you and I will never be mad at each other. That is the beautiful thing.

Hello Ms. Shields,

Why are you interested in studying and adapting the ways of the Jewish people when you are not a Jewish woman?
Really, is not that is what you are doing when you study the Bible you are studying the legacies of the Jewish people? Why would you put your race down to study the customs and ways of the Jewish people? Do you not think God could bless you and Black Americans the same as how God blessed the Jewish people?

Tell me what you think.

Harry, I asked about prophets. Let me see if this is a question you've answered or avoided.

Hello Steve,

You said this, “Let me see if this is a question you've answered or avoided.". I do not understand the question since you never mentioned what the question is. How could I am answer a question that is not asked?

Stop being stupid, okay.

Steve Williams Friday, December 10th 2010 at 3:40PM

Harry, the question (answer?) is on your blog. I know that you know what I'm talking about, the subject prophet that underlies all your postings, no matter what.

Hello Harry:

I study and admire the teaching of the Bible because I have the written Word that teaches me how and what to pleases the Lord.

This is done by obedience of his laws.

There is but one God and this God is the God of all races of people.
He is my God and I am Black.
