	Thanks for responding to me so quickly and I understand your point, but I need to clarify what I wrote in your blog. When most people say they are from the "Hood" what I gather from their statement or affiliation with the hood is that they are actually proud of Poverty. Being proud of where one comes from is Something to celebrate, but poverty and all the decadence that comes along with it is nothing to celebrate or be proud of. I'm glad for you that you have made it just as I am for any other Black person who is fortunate enough to make it in the Diaspora, but I really don't see the good in celebrating poverty or poverty mentality like the "no snitching" code. What good has it done for our people? Has it helped a grieving mother who has lost a child? (Yet when the White man does something, we want justice. What's the difference? I digress. ... ) This is what I meant when I said living in bad neighborhoods is nothing to be proud of. Yes be proud of where you come from, but leave the nonsense where it should be left--- behind. To each his/her own. I'm proud of my humble rural beginnings in S.C. where we could lay our head downs and sleep with our doors unlocked and and windows up at night. 	...I'm very proud of my hood. .. In regard to your comment I believe everyone whether they come from a hood or not should be proud of their upbringing. WHY do you take things so personally? Don't think for one moment that I feel bad because I didn't live in a hood. I too, am Very proud of my upbringing because my ancestors fought hard for me to be free of poverty.
