My BlackInAmerica.com Profile
Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
Because we are oppressed and many of us have internalized racist beliefs about ourselves. And that we have a history of resistance and struggle that has not been adequately passed on to the post 1980s generations. And that we are due reparations for past crimes committed against our ancestors during the enslavement centuries as well as postslavery times of the 19th and 20th centuries.

I would like to join you in your efforts to educate or better yet reeducate the public at large about Black pride and how this Black pride is directly tied to our survival skills as a unique culture. A culture that is different because of the need to survive and build from the negatives that causes the FCC to allow programs like Black in America to abuse, censor out any part of what the Black family really is, will, and will become because it does not fit the mold of the main stream media's values/truths that is designed to get ratings! And, to call it Free speech! Allowing this into my home without any lable of "this can be concidered as offensive by some..." as they do other programs is something that must be addressed on mass. This is not free speech it is discrimination at the expense of my (our)whole African-American experience today and yesterday in our effprts to get equal rights in even the media that calims to be "news" of interest to its viewers. I am a viewer who will still have to pay cable even as iIturn from Black in America first ten minutes on 7-23 and today, 7-26 as Ito watch those censored ireports coming in as replys to the programs especially the one claiming to be about the Black family. Each time I turn the channel, I give CNN a call. Programs like this is aimed at educationg OUT of our youth Black culture being taught i n public schools of today that have African-centured and not Eurpoean-centered Black history!!! CNN keeps bringing up the fact that so few Blacks attend colleges and to me this is their way to take advantage of this fact! Please, all I ask is that everyone just take a second look at the purpose of teaching Black history on main stream media and not allowing one reply to them that is not a "talking Head" response that will not hinder their ratings! please.
