From The Desk of Marvin Kingcade, III
North Philadelphia native Nakia Campbell is the current Spokes Model/Host for RunwayImage, Inc. Ms. Campbell is also the Executive Director of the non-profit organization known as The PINK Ladies Youth Mentoring Program, where she mentors teen girls. With a background in Video Production/Digital Media Production from the Art Institute of Philadelphia she has utilized her discipline, skills and hands-on experience to work for BET’s “Teen Summit”, a live teen talk show, as Floor Director, Audience Coordinator, Chyron Operator, Production Assistant and Teen Mentor. This was a teen talk show that gave her the inspiration to produce a show for teens in the city of Philadelphia, called “Teens in the City”. She was also Associate Editor of “The Street Buzz”; the highly successful Philadelphia based Hip-Hop Magazine that promoted independent record labels, artists and businesses. With her experience in Urban Culture and Media she has now branched out to assist independent Filmmaker’s with their film/video projects from conception to completion. She has assisted production houses with script management, writing, camera direction and cinematography. Nakia is also the liaison for these companies in making sure the films and video productions are submitted to proper film screenings, festivals and distribution channels. Nakia is still conscious of her main objective: Promoting Intelligent Non-violent and Knowledgeable Ladies from not going astray from their dreams, their goals and their objectives. Nakia believes the best way to accomplish this is to lead by example; to show and prove that young women can rise above any situation or barrier and achieve their life purpose. This is why she is determined to produce a positive & uplifting broadcast quality teen talk show, “Teens in the City”. This show is a production sponsored by The PINK Ladies Youth Mentoring Program, a show run by teens for teens. Nakia is a single mother of an 18-year-old son, Briheem. Briheem will be attending Virginia State University this Fall 2008 to begin his freshmen year of college studying Pre-Med Chemistry. Nakia has worked very hard and diligently to provide a loving, stable and secure life for her son. She gave birth to Briheem when she was just 15 years old in tenth grade. Despite raising her son in a violent and poverty stricken neighborhood nestled right in the heart of North Philadelphia, Briheem was blessed to remain focused on his school academics, football and his music production. He was very fortunate not to be influenced by the street (drug dealers, gangs, etc…) instead; he surpassed all of the negativity of the street that most young African American boys would have followed into. Nakia used every positive opportunity and outlet to enhance her education in order to teach her son the fundamentals of life and success. Nakia and Briheem continue to work hard on their careers while supporting each other to the fullest. I am extremely confident that the professional abilities and work ethic that Ms. Campbell possess and has proven with various successful production projects will be a tremendous asset to your company and will ensure broadcast quality productions. Sincerely, Marvin Kingcade, III Producer RunwayImage, Inc. K III Productions 267-983-7205 215-276-9558 marvin@runwayimage.ocm

I really appreciate the "charisma...smile" My deepest thanks to you... The world needs more people like us... It seems that the "old" morals and teachings are no longer being taught in todays house holds. Even my mother has tended to raise my little sister differently than me and my brother. It works and that's all to it...lol. A strong moral foundation, education, and a good whippin' will bring forth a great human being... I believe that... I will be in touch... Many blessings from mine to yours...Jazz Tagged by Devon Smith on 07/31/2008 |
