My BlackInAmerica.com Profile
Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
I am concerned about Black America self destruction in our own communities. I believe that Black American Professionals, should realize that they must go back and work in their communities as professionals role models, and try to improve the African American's lifestyles. My other concern is that African Americans voices are not being heard due not participating in elections in large numbers. There are still over 8 million African Americans who are not registered to vote in this upcoming election. We as a race must understand that we do control our destiny in this country not by complaining or making excuses, but by being active in what we believe.

I agree. We must build our communities. As a substitute teacher I try to speak to our youth in the high schools I work at. My goal, to encourage them to take their education seriously and prepare for the future. Someone encouraged me and I returned to college in my forties and graduated with a bachelor degree. Now I am hoping to go to graduate school. I have a long way to go to reach more academic goals but I am on my way. Our President and First Lady have really encouraged me.

I thought about it but not as eloquently and analytically as Jack & Jill. But hen again, if she looked like "Aunt Je mima" the "mammy figurehead, they might not be so anxious."
