Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
I'm concerned about America in general, but specifically in our culture, it seems we internalize much of what is perceived about us. On the one hand, people believe that black people stick together. Every other culture seems to be okay with uniting under the umbrella of their commonality, Jewish people, Chinese people, the Irish even. But since our cultural background is as diverse, if not more so, than our white counterparts, the model of progressing through unity doesn't seem to work for us. I don't exclude myself in this analysis - on the one hand I want to support black businesses, on the other, nothing aggravates me more than to see one poorly run.

Ms Abayomi-Paul, I am excite to know that you venture from West Africa because I am a stranger to this land as my roots have lead me to the year 1785 near a shipping port in Virginia where my descendant came from west Africa. Meeting you is the light of day for I need to know more. 65% of those coming from Calabar area were Igbos and follow the ways of the Hebrews and we continue doing those things known to us as Traditions. Must finish work for the Holidays but stay tone for there is more. Peace and love.
