I'm Voting For Obama But I'm not Voting For The rest of The Ticket (605 hits)

I was appalled by the vote for the enriching of the richest section of the Economy at the expense of everyone else. Were it not for the fact that it more politically important that we get a Black President, I wouldn't vote for Obama and buddy Biden. I do have a choice on my ballot I could vote for Cynthia McKinney of the Green Party, but I'm voting for the winning bird. Cynthia will have 4 more years to bring her case to the American Population and stand a better chance from an Obama victory.

The reason why I'm writing this blog is that people haven't been talking about the Public Question on the Ballot. In my area one of the questions is whether or not the Jersey City School District should go become a Type 1 or Type 2 Board of Education District. It is really really difficulty not to say what's the point.

When my father was alive and the issue came up in the Newark, he basically was in favor of the appointment by the Mayor. This was based on the premise it was a simpler political battle to elect a Mayor favorable to you views as opposed to running different slates. I believe he is correct. The problem is that due to political apathy and ignorance I'm not sure we can elect local leadership that will express the will of the people. What's worse is that the will of the people maybe so warped that they may be suffering from the Lemming Syndrome.

If you don't know what a Lemming is it's a rodent that lives in the Norhwest and every few years they run en masse their doom. It is my gut feeling that people are too busy try to pay Peter and Paul, to take time out to ponder the exact nature of their situation. They are concerned about the rising crime, they are concerned about the rising prices of gas and food. If they are luck enough they are worried about what is the status of their IRA and 401K.

I wish I could give a simple answer but, besides voting for Obama, and voting to keep the point of accountable singular which means I'm voting for a Board of Education appointed by the Mayor, my current suggestion is to get involved with income generating activity. You can't increase savings if you aren't bring income and inflation is rising.

I don't know if you are aware of the difference between national elections and local elections. The majority of your blog expresses concerns at a local level. If that is the case, then I suggest that you focus your attention on the area candidates and their platforms.
