Obama and Israel. "We don't want you to bridge gaps between us?? (595 hits)

Tsipi Livni- the Israeli Foreign Minister..running for Prime MInister has made the statements above. She does not sound like she is pro-Obama or for that matter pro-peace.

She claims that she met with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, and that the enemy is not the "Arabs" but extremists. No fooling. Something is very wrong here. Does Israel really want peace? I am feeling something very strange.

Or is it a "prejudice" of a Black man. I did not say racism, but I do know that a lot of Orthodox Jews are racist with audacity, considering their own history which is just as despicable. The difference is that they were allowed to maintain their religion and their family geneology. Her statement really bothers me to the core. Afraid a Black man will find out the truth? or did Israel purposely set out to see Obama as not a friend of Israel? Do we need to look into the Zionist movement closely? Here are excerpts from Yahoo.news of her partisan, and bellicose comments:

"The talks have been hobbled by violence and bitter disputes over Jewish settlement building and the future of Jerusalem.

Livni said she welcomed the outcome of a meeting she attended last weekend in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, with the Quartet -- the European Union, Russia, the United Nations and the United States -- and Arab and Palestinian leaders.

Livni said she had told them: "We don't ask you to intervene. Please, this is bilateral. We don't want you to try to bridge gaps between us. Don't put new ideas on the table."

"We know what we are doing, we are responsible enough. We need your help just in supporting the process according to the parameters and the provisions we all set between us."

Dont' put new ideas on the table? why? Afraid of C_H_A_N_G_E ? There has to be a reason.

Report: Obama views 'have serious implications for Israel'

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama can be expected to have a rocky relationship with Israel, according to a new report.

The Begin-Sadat Center cited Obama's plans to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq and reconcile with Iran and Syria in concluding that the forthcoming Obama administration was likely to clash with the next Israeli government.

Do you think Obama's willingness to sit down and talk with the Iranian President Ahmadinejad has something to do with this? Israel in my opinion has never whole heartedly embraced the peace process, but reluctantly did so after the U.S. urged them to do so. It's all show with Israel and nothing really sincere. Why are the Jews still building settlements left and right and why are Christian organizations from the United States funding their law breaking?

Dialogue amongst academics is for the purpose of enlightenment. While this site is not for professionals in international affairs nor academe,it is imperative that we EDUCATE ourselves, in order to understand the decisons being made and how it will impact us. Jewish people have controlled wealth since the beginning of Abraham. Jewish people are hated worse than blacks in the diaspora. Comments made wherein summaries of other peoples ideas are given need to be cited to the source. I personally know that American English does not use the spellings such as "organise" or realise" with an s. Having said that, please feel free to comment as to your understanding, and please do not be intimidated by any writings which pretend to have the "final" answer to this conundrum. At best the followers of NOI have more knowledge about Israeli-American relations than ANY American for that matter.
Minister Farrakhan had met Menachem Began,the former Israeli Prime Minister, the Syrian President, the Jordanian President and has their favor. Mr. Began is deceased.

I as a former Adjunct Professor of Anthropolgoy 2001-2003 at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, a great grand-daughter of a Sephardic Jew from Spain, having attended Forest Hills H.S. and Queens College, well liked by Jewish people say to you, please feel free to comment on your understanding or misunderstanding so we can be on the same page and support our President. Trouble is brewing because they want to create problems. I read the Jewish Press, Iive in New York, and other than L.A. you can't get more Jewish except to live in Israel!
Knowledge is power and the above "summary" is at best biased and at worst pandering to other types of prejudices. Thank you.
