True Warriors (599 hits)

I received a message from "A Friend Katherine" about some negative blog post that had her as the subject matter. I sent her a response, but felt the need to share it with BIA in general. So, here it is:

Katherine, I don't know what the fuss is about and I'm sure that I don't need to read the blog about you to glean any insight. I've seen five blog posts thus far that I deem to be truly inspirational. I would surmise that the rest are more of the same. If one is to spread positivity in this world, he/she must have thick skin. As pointed out in the bible (I read scriptures from many religions -- the bible is merely my reference tool in THIS instance) the true ruler of this world is Satan, the devil, Iblis, etc. I like to call this a mere metamorphic symbol of the selfishness of man that can take on demonic proportions, but you can call it what you like. The point is that "me-ism" rules the day and those with vision can see that continued adherence to "me-ism" leads to destruction -- of self and the commUNITY, city, state, nation and world. Those with vision, can see that the only to true path to sustainability -- for me, you and us -- is the adaptation of "we-ism"! And having that vision means that your encounter with the forces of "me-ism" is inevitable! It's part of the battle! Toughen up! Be glad that the battle is truly a spiritual, intellectual, ethical one for which you are obviously well equipped. Quit crying in your beer because of a naysayer! Use your God-given gifts and get back into the fray. Yes, there IS crying in baseball. Tom Hanks misspoke in the movie. Many athletes cry. It's OK! .... but you NEVER cry when the game is still being played! That was the true criticism of Hillary Clinton. The crying must be saved for later. Right now, there's just too much work to be done!

"All that glitters is not Gold"
You too Katherine have been guilty of what is said about this brother. You have been judgmental of things I've shared with others. So, judge not that thou be not judged.
When people share thoughts for the sake of raising ones consciousness, it is for the purpose of self reflection and self analysis. We are all from different cultures and background, with much to share. Being of various shades on the chocolate spectrum
also means we are of different views and opinions. This brother, whom I do not know, was frank about his opinion of one person, but there are those who attempt to be clever in their display of trying to put another down. One pot can't call the kettle black and not expect a reflection of ones self. Not everyone is aware of your hidden actions, but I am because you have shown it to me. If you are going to be pure in heart, be that in all you do.
If you claim to be walking in the way of light, then put the deceptive side away without pretense.
If anything, this is a lesson for us all. Constructive criticism vs. destructive criticism. A topic that should be discussed as we search for answers to our challenges of unity.
Each One Teach One.
Peace

Dr. Okpara Nosakhere
Okay, now I'm going to have to read the comments for myself. I must admit that I DO have a great deal of respect for Dr. Nosakhere's insight. As a matter of fact, he will be my guest on my online pluralistic ministry tomorrow (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/PCGL/2008/12/14/Commonality-Among-Religions). Tune in live if you can, or listen to/download from the archives later. If anyone can tell me how to find this post before I hunt it down, please do.

I will go out on a limb on this one and say that she didn't do onto others as what is being done to her. Disagreeing is one thing. Telling someone that they shouldn't post because they have a hidden agenda is something else.
I'd like to see any posts that she has written that would support the claim that she is doing the same to others.

Brother Okpara, I have read most of your blogs and have not seen her respond to any of them, so I am unclear of the issues she has been judgmental on or when in disagreement she maintained a level of respect towards the writer. I am curious though, just what exactly have you been shown that has been hidden to the rest of us?

You know this Robert Powell guy has shown his ignorance in entirely too many instances that I have gleaned from a number of posts. He just posted more ignorance here that I promptly deleted. Since we can -- and I do -- get email alerts when someone responds to our blogs, I suggest that we ALL delete his ignorant comments as soon as we have knowledge that they exist! Doing so will help eradicate a cancer and get back to true discussion. I'm not one to run from honest dialogue -- whether one agrees or disagrees with my viewpoint. But, we MUST always remove the hecklers from the room so that an honest, unfettered discourse can take place between true "panelists". Let's remove the hecklers, folk. With no audience they sink into oblivion!
