MY RESPONSE TO THE NEGATIVITY (818 hits)

WOW I'm really disappointed by what's goin on this site. I thought this was a network for socially-conscious ppl. I thought this was a site where we could be unified as a people and come together to build and help one another out rather than destroy and put our people down. Apparently I was naive and wrong to think so. I see this all time, something that is supposed to be created for us is destroyed by us. When will the cycle end? When will we wake up and realize we are our own worse enemies? Why is is that we are the only race that can't seem to have each other's back? Why is it our people suffer and are killed by the hands of our own race than any other? Why is is when someone is trying to do something positive someone else is there to tear them down? Have ya'll noticed that people are leaving this site because of all the ignorance? SERIOUSLY, WAKE UP. WE ARE NOT SLAVES ANYMORE. I have hope for my people, I love my people, and I am proud to be black. I hope I am not the only one who feels this way. We didn't let slavery defeat, we won't let racism defeat us, so must we defeat ourselves. If you get knocked down, then get back up. If you see someone is down, help them back up. We have a RESPONSIBILITY to love one another as we love ourselves. Walk in faith and you're light will shine. If you chose to walk in the dark please don't be take anyone with you. All I'm saying is please stop with all the negativity because nothing will ever change with it.

Gary, disagreeing is one thing. Outright hate for the hell of it is something else. After reading your post, it sounds as if there is NO HOPE. If someone was dogging another person on here for something that is not hurting ANYONE then it's sad. An Australian, European, Hispanic, or Asian could come on site and say "Those n*ggas are crazy". Then everyone would be in an uproar. We are doing that to ourselves and I'm not talking about the definition of "that's my n*gga" as you well know. We oppress ourselves.

Why would someone blast another person on here for the amount of blogs that they post? You have people that post dozens of blogs here. They don't all make sense either but we aren't attacking everyone here. If you're going to do it, attack some of the doctors and lawyers on here. Don't be afraid of the titles. Just do it for the hell of it and see where you get with it. I don't just mean YOU, Gary. I mean everyone that has a problem with what Katherine or other people write. It's really easy to skip over posts by a particular person. I would like to think that OUR PEOPLE understand how to do better than what we are doing on this site and many others. There are some people that thrive from negativity that is posted but others aren't here to be defiant. They want to get away from the dayjob, recession, and loud screams for an hour or two each day.

There have been many good points made, the main one being attacking a member of the family. Gary, you seem to miss the point entirely, but then you were part of his 'amen corner'. What you miss is that disagreeing doesn't require insults. Besides, who is he, or you for that matter, to decide that just because you don't like what she does that it has no merit for anyone? There are many people that have been helped simply from reading her posts. It seems that you both thrive on the negativity, yet I don't see you proposing nor presenting anything that offers comfort to people you don't know other than comments in all caps with enough spelling and punctuation errors to make any English teacher cringe. Remember, those red dots under words means that the word is spelled wrong. When I am wrong or when someone shows me my mistakes, I will be the first to admit it. My hope is that we finally wake up and realize we don't need to make enemies within our own family. Wouldn't it have made more sense to simply ask her privately why she does what she does rather than attack her not knowing anything?

gary it is ok to disagree with someone but like u said in a respectful way what i'm referring to is the disrespect that i've seen i never said ppl can't disagree but to put down a person's character is never ok there is a way to do everything and that is not it
