One of the sisters on here,turned me on to a book -about people who are multi-talented. Those of us, that have talents in all kinds of things, of which you also have.
It can be a female that knows how to build cabinets,lay down tiles,or build a house, or a male that can crochet, decorate or has a really good rapport with children.
As I try to understand , I realize 1. That I am in a peaceful environment. With minimal finances, I created beauty in the area where I spend most of my time. Where ever my eye rests,there is something beautiful; a flower, the cover of an art book, poinsettias, the star on the small Christmas tree with soft colors--a Crystal ball paperweight that plays music with butterflies, I cooked..(I cooked- anyone knowing me for the past 10 years would say )No! yeah,I had forgotten the joy of cooking,
Mom is well fed, we are warm, and cozy. All the young adults are gone. I realize that we here in America are better off than about 3 billion people in the world. Nothing fancy, no expensive gifts, lots of books,candles,scent of cinnamon, and ginger and spice. Is this what it's all about? truly, warmth,security, love and peace.
I think it is a freedom of choice. Right this moment I can choose to engage in any one of my talents, undisturbed .Well deserved because it wasn't like that raising five children. So then there is a time to sacrifice and a time to reap, Oh I so wish this for parents to understand that one day the other joy of preparing for family and children during Christmas will evolve to where you will reap the benefits of all those Christmases that it was about everyone else but you.
