Emotional Over-Eating?/The New Wisdom in Wealth and Health Workshops by Ben & Esther Pinkston (517 hits)

There are plenty of reasons of why both men and women of all ages become overweight.

It is not as easy as saying that overweight people just shovel food in their mouth and never get off the couch because there can be any number of psychological reasons that make people want to eat to much.

There are many emotional triggers such as anger, boredom, anxiety, frustration, depression, stress and so on that can all make a person want to continue to eat more and more. This is due to the fact that there are certain chemicals in the brain that are linked directly to both mood and hunger.

Both men and women associate eating with various different types of emotions and for this reason they choose to eat way more than they need to make themselves feel better, relaxed or secure.

If you feel your weight problem is caused by emotional over eating then it is probably best to deal with those issues first by seeing a counselor or specialist rather than trying to deal with these issues alone through exercise and nutrition.

For a lot of people it is habit to over eat and modifying your behavior will be the key to winning the weight loss battle in the majority of these cases.

One of the easiest ways to change your eating patterns is to remove any temptations. This is best done when you go food shopping by not buying tons of junk food and drinks that are full of sugar.

Just because it says fat-free or sugar-free doesn’t mean it’s a free-for-all to eat as much as you want. Also, drink green tea or water instead of those sugary drinks.

By not having all the unhealthy foods in the house you won’t be tempted to eat them. This will encourage you to eat healthier foods and in doing so change your eating patterns and live a healthier and more productive life.

Changing your eating patters is made considerably easier if you have an accountability partner or partners. Get together with family members, friends, or co-workers and work together towards achieving the goal of losing weight and healthier eating. by John Caylor
