Hello Clark--I remember there are specifics in his book regarding 8a set asides!"Change we Can Believe In--

HI Marta! It's been a while. I have been busy in several locales in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee anticipating how our company's role will play out in putting cash "directly into the hands of main street individuals, the homeless, rural residents, those of low income in general. We are ready to distribute any "cash in hand" payments called for in this stimulus package. It is our style to go directly to those who would feel "there is nothing in it for me", the churches, local agencies such as the department of human resources, Spanish-American advocacy repre-
sentatives and the like.

I am following your comments and value any points of view you are receiving and evoking from your other respondents. As a result I sent out an email on hbcuconnect.com, regarding the incredible number of persons eligible for but ap-
parently will not file for their earn income tax credit in 2009 and earlier years. You should have received your copy for reviewing. When you get a chance, go to the
IRS website (www.irs.gov and try out their new interactive tool they call the EITC
ASSISTANT. It is really neat in helping to determine who is a candidate for this tax
benefit and payment amount: One of our recent clients was determined to be due $70 as her earned income credit: she has no children, is a mentally challenged young lady who transports others to keep appointments, runs errands for them and earns about $1000 a year to supplement her SSA/SSI monthly payments. This temporary 'boost" in income was a godsend in these difficult economic times. Think of how many more eligibles out there. So, spread the word, especially of the EITC ASSISTANT. We'll chat more and compare notes later as we await the final outcome that rolls out to President Obama for his signature!

hey "family"!

Marta, you rock and you need to be involved with Healthcare For America Now on the healthcare portion of the stimulus package.

Yes, Bill, your reminder about the earned income credit was very useful and thanks for sending it.

The Small Business help 8(a) is a primary target area, too, from what I understand, but I do not understand the intrincsities on that. So...

If you have not followed my blogs on the healthcare agenda, please do because the main target of that policy will be a public healthcare program. This is not Medicaid or Medicare and it will enable hundreds of thousands...millions of poor women and children to have basic healthcare coverage.

Ok, thanks for Marta, Sis., with the specifics for the family, too. I will be watching your feedback as well. The feedbacks are valuable in taking back to the Team just what the people WANT!

It's all in God's hands--so today in looking at future housing for my mom--I found out that people who work all their lives and get Social Security--do not get the same access to healthcare as persons receiving SSI-yet some who have never worked--can get assistance--particularly with -home health aides--I will e-mail his assistant--what's wrong with me-"The President's" assistant and pass the info along on behalf of social security retirees, who maybe be disabled but never were on SSI. I am keeping up with the wealth of valuable information you are delivering. I have some things I wanted to discuss with you regarding medications for bi-polar diseases.( Though I personally do not see it as a disease but as another reality)--hugs and kisses--chat lata--pass this info to the team-- on Medicare--vs Medicaid for older retirees--maybe then can implement it let's say at 75 years of age automatically.

We need to discuss this further--

Sounds like a winner to me, but nothing about tax cuts so how will the Republicans ever be able to accept this with a YES(smile)

I believe that our Ca. governor did a smart thing when he did what he did to the workers in this state, because these workers will never even have to take him to court. And, why one may ask when the governor had not legal right to take two days of work from them how eill he be able to get away with this? As it looks right now Ca. will be the first state to receive any of the money. As, I stated, smart, huh?

Clark, from what I heard and what I believe our president was saying tonight was that this is the start of direct help to go to small business. And, his case was directly to the average person, the voters in two years.

After all of these cover-ups of the Halliburtons loosing $1.4 billion and the only thing they have to say is, NOTHING, are over. I loved the way he put a stop to the reporter from CNN saying that this economic crisis was the fault of the CONSUMERS...It is small business that will be all of the safety nets for jobs future in America and not the CEOs bankrupting and causing lay-offs in the Obama administration.

With our president on the front lines protecting small business as the back bone for creating jobs and big business and their lobby big bucks are the job killers finally hits the MAJORITY in full force...C-H-A-N-G-E or not??????????smile)

Marta, try this for being backwards...until a few years ago if you were not a proven illegal drug addict in California it was almost impossiable to even get SSI!!! today it is just the opposit.

But, here is the lastest for jail inmates...if you do not have $4.00 to buy a medical request sllip requesting someone to even consider if you have a headache or are suffering from say an accute headache (actually check if sick in any way)you do not even get to see a doctor. The get to see a doctor to find out if you are sick is determined by the jailers before you can even pay the fee to get a medical slip to see the doctor!!!

I have asked the powers that be at our Capitol and in D.C. after reading this in my local paper if this is not practicing medicine with out a license by the jailers of who needs medical attenion/do not need medical attention in the first place? So far no reply.(smile)
