Women have been a important part of all of American history. As part of Black History month we discover there is so much of us who participated in the making of this country. We helped design it from the moment we landed from the ships! Our ancestors are from immigrants of Africa, Etophia, France, England and almost every country and continent in the earth! We are Numbians and Queens. Displaced we were and found a new place in America where we molded great achievements from small hands that worked in cotton fields, wheat fields and manufacturing workshops that sewed. We sewed everything from fabrics to jewerly and we still are sewing today. We helped design the industry even now. Our grace and input often is overlooked, and overlacked. Overlacked, because we are met in the richness that we should be. Overlooked, because many in society fail to look at what we really are. We are high-spiritied! We are among the seams of the threads. In the stars and stripes we shine and our stripes are our tracing. Yielding up a design we achieve to making our goals our dreams and going forth too, that we draw a picture of a new flag called I am Woman. No, I am not writing of the sewing machine, but of the nature of sewing our gifts for survival.
I know that this sounds like a patriotic speech of sorts, but at the moment I wasn't feeling that way. I was being thankful to The Heavenly Father that I can understand without him I cannot do anything. With him I am designed to be great. And so are you... Thanks for reading with me. Ironically, you can see we are among the stars and stripes!
