WILL HEALTHCARE REFORM IN AMERICA IMPROVE THE COUNTRY OR LIVES? (572 hits)

In an article written by Jason Rosenbaum in Solutions that Work and posted on the Healthcare For America Now organization's website, statistics indicate that 59 percent of Americans believe that the passage of a healthcare reform policy will improve the country, while just 38 percent of Americans believe that the passage of a healthcare reform policy will improve lives.

Note the distinction between country and life. Will the country be improved or will the life of Americans be improved? In order to improve the life of an individual, we need quality medical care. As Americans, we are entitled to that and there is a well-known disparity between the level of quality healthcare for African-Americans versus their counterpart -- Caucasian/other race groups. Ultimately, folks, we want to support the Obama Healthcare Policy Agenda because it will result in quality healthcare services at an affordable cost.

WARNING: Be mindful that we need better healthcare for maintenance medications and overall mental and physical health. We must understand that the number one tactic that opponents of the Obama Healthcare Reform Policy will use is the fear factor! The opponents will argue that under President Obama's healthcare policy, we stand to lose quality healthcare. Quality healthcare goes all the way down to the amount of time we sit in the doctor's office waiting to be seen. You must remember that President Obama seeks to improve the quality of service for each of us so that when we arrive at the doctor's office, the clock starts ticking and when time is up, the doctor cannot bill for a regular visit without stiff penalties. It will be impossible for healthcare providers to ration (skip procedures) services, too.

ACTION: Be prepared to take the breath out of the opposing healthcare reform arguments. The point in sharing this information with you is so that you have truth and wisdom and keep the pressure on Congress to pass President Obama's Healthcare Reform Policy. Write to your Senators OFTEN and let them know you are counting on them to pass healthcare reform. Thank them often as well so that they are encouraged they are acting truly on the behalf of their constituents. I actually received my first letter from my Senator acknowledging my letter to pass healthcare reform. Remember we represent 100 people each time we write. How many African-Americans will be affected by the healthcare reform who do not know to write?

BUDGET: $634 billion for health care - WE CAN and WE WILL...improve the life of every African-American and American and child...
