For ten years this brother has successfully brought together the Black Intelligentsia. To witness a buffett of highly educated, self mandated, Black people who LOVE themselves and as well their brethern is always a much needed breath of oxygen.
Their discourse, and points of view though disparate, entail a deep analytical understanding of African peoples in the Diaspora. Holding firm to their acceptance and belief in the roots of humanity as having its genesis in Africa.
We don't have to agree but we have to respect their bravado and staunch commitment to freedom from bondage, in all its forms, intellectual, emotional, political , and social.
Their voice is needed to counteract Blacks who think that by agreeing with white supremacy and their denial that it exists! that some how they are "free." Not realizing there were many slaves who were "free" but yet had to remain on the plantation.
Let me introduce you to Ward Connerly. A plump otherwise pleasant Black man,who took issue with A.G. Eric Holder that we are a nation of cowards for refusing to put race on the table once and for all. Mr. Connerly is a black Republican ,he believes that all this "black lip flopping" about racial profiling and the driving while black reality is an excuse and that it " weakens law enforcement in Black communities." He believes that if a cab driver in New York who is "Ethiopian" (watch the sublteties) doens't want to pick you up--it is because he may remember the "last time a knife was held to his throat."
If this is not an example of self-hatred, and playing and pandering via words to the racist white status quo--then you must think that whites do not have a mindset of "Black=Criminal" and it is precisely this--I am different from those blacks- conduct, attitude and behavior that gives a place for the GOP party to continue to paint a picture of the savagery of black culture.
Now he stated while speaking at the CPAC conference, The conservative conference for Republicans, that he does not believe in "hyphenation" as in African-Americans-which may have worthy discussion within and without Black America, but the problem is in the danger that blacks can face without the borders that protect a group of people that have been systematically discriminated against.
Mr. Connerly is your quintessential Uncle-Tom, and he should just own up to it--because as Rev. Al Sharpton so correctly pointed out to the Star Parkers--(former welfare recipient now the erudite GOP lackey) and Larry Elder, and Justice Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, et al. like to point out that they "made" it solely on their "credentials" that in fact if it wasn't for the UNDEREDUCATED and unschooled who marched and shed their blood the door would have never opened for them to walk through- I am not an Al Sharpton fan--but he got this one right--
