Leketha Marie Johnson was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She has always loved reading books and writing short stories since a very early age as English was her favorite subject in school. Her dream is for every child to discover the joy and treasures of reading all sorts of great literature. Her hope is that through reading, kids will be inspired to change the world for the better as they become educated and learn to be analytical thinkers.
Mrs. Johnson is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, African American Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, NAACP, and the National Black Child Development Institute, a program established to increase the early literacy skills for African American children.
She attended Valley Junior college and then later transferred to California State University Northridge majoring in Sociology. She later started employment with a large banking firm of which she has successfully built a career in the mortgage banking industry as a sales account executive. She writes continuously and has a second book from the Sunny’s Adventures series which will be released soon. And she’s also working on several other children’s books as well.
