HOMETOWN MEMPHIS: WHEN YOU TAKE A LOOK (290 hits)

HOMETOWN MEMPHIS 06.08.2009

What happens when you look...of course you'll see..

THERE'S SOMETHING GROWING IN THE FIELDS
06.08.2009
Jackson, TN

There are experimental fields of barley growing at UT's AgResearch Center in Jackson, TN . Last fall the research group decided in association with Budweiser beer to look at the possiblities barley crops would grow well in Tennessee. In addition, this would be a way that farmers could have information on developement of crops along with potential for additional income. The study group planted a total of 8 varieties of barley. While Tennessee is not known as grain state-- the look of grain may change all that. The crops of grain were planted last fall 2008 and soon will be ready for harvest. Dr. Chris Mann is spokesperson said that " We' had excellent yields." This year has been the second year of the experiment, and so far it's taking a good look ahead.

Barley is the major ingredient of beer..Tennessee farmers may be looking at legal way to produce a few paying crops...but Look... No moonshine!...Du..uh!

MIISRAEL, what's to see next?
How about looking at a healing...Take a look at this..

"YOU CAN'T PUT YOURSELF IN A BOX YOU HAVE TO LIVE"
06.07.2009
Memphis, TN

Temple Church of God in Christ is having a healing conference this week to help families of violent crimes heal and move on. The conference focuses on family, persons, or indiviuals who have loss of love ones through senseless murders. Looking at he intense pain and suffering with a loss can be depressing and love ones do not always find ways to cope well with the death in a violent crime. That's when Dr. David Hall, Pastor of Temple Church of God in Christ made a pledge against, drugs, gangs, and viiolence. He has made a plea to all Memphians to put down the guns and pick up the bibles. The conference will feature community leaders, law enforcement offices and mental health experts to talk with family and also those who may be involved in potential crimes or gangs. The conference will feature testimonials from those who wish to participate. One of the participants was quoted as saying "You never get over the loss, but you can move forward." ..."You can't put yourself in a box you have to live." The Healing Conference runs Wednesday, thrugh Friday each night at 7:30 at Temple Church of God in Christ 672 South Lauderdale Street General information call: 901-774-4477

Hopefully many will come and share and release...

I had someone tell me once...MIISRAEL, I've never met anyone like you in my life.
I wanted to question that, but I think I'll look at it as compliment!

Now let's look here twice...

BABY YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN SWIMMING!
06.07.2008
Southaven, MS

A 16 month old went swimming on Sunday at the Church Lake Apartment with their family. Upon returning from from the swim, the child somehow wandered back to the lake for another swim. Nearly drowing the child was pulled from the lake where just in the nick of time paramedics were able to deliver CPR. One witness on the scene was quoted as saying: "I looked over...and saw them pull the baby out of the water. When they first arrived and looked the child was face down in the water of the lake.

Look at that, the child life was saved. However, looks like it's NO SWIMMING FOR A WHILE!...

You know what? I'm looking out for you with prayers. Thanks for coming by for a LOOK.
