TOSS THE COIN

Call it..heads or tails?

Okay, you get the first play!

Here's the question:

What's the name of the T.V. game where two families get to fight over questions and answers?

And the survey says....

FLIP!

WELCOME TO FAMILY FEUD!
ALA News
08.24.2009

Two Alabama families are feuding over something that started with a basketball in the park. Two families or should I say neighboring familiess are fighting over, ...well? It was like..it all started with one family's son wanted to play basketball in the local neighborhood park, but was met with a confrontation when he went to play. He returned back home beat up by his own neighbor's kids. The family then began feuding and that's when they'd all decided to jump in on the fight. Facts state that police had to untangled the feuding families. Then when the family went to court, more feuding and disorderly conduct burst out again. Officials are hoping both families will settle down and cool their tempers. Details are still floppy as to what the feuding is all about.

MIISRAEL, It's your turn now. What's the next question in the survey?

Here it is:

What do you do when your mom tells you to go wash your hands at a resturant?

The survey says...

FLOP!

_____________________

MOMMA, I CAN'T WASH, I'M HOLDING ON THE BACK DOOR RAILS WITH MY HANDS!

Memphis, TN
08.24.09

A family night of dining out turned into a real situation of attempted kid-napping as a 7 year obeyed his mom and went to wash his hands. Only in a few minutes he was being grabbed and lugged out the backdoor of the resturant with a strange man. The report says that 48 year old Brian Williamson tried to take the boy away when he went to the restroom. The boy's parents were at the table and with all the noise didn't realize he was in trouble. The boy managed to get away from his alleged kid-knapper and return to tell his mother what happened. The family called police who arrested Williamson who was still sitting at the bar when they arrived. Williamson is charged with attempted kidnapping of a youth. He is in jail with a 150,000 bond. His mother is hoping that other families will keep a closer watch on their children, she says this has taught her to always be careful with your children.

You missed the answer MIISRAEL, it's my turn.

Step up then....And the question is:

Besides pages of a book, what else does a librarian flip flops?

And the survey says.....

FLIP!

FLIPPING AND FLOPPING AROUND THE STACKS CAN LEAVE YOU "BOOKED" WITH A SERIOUS FINE!

08.24.2009
Beebe, AR

A 36 year old female librarian has been charged with 1st degree s*xual assualt of a minor. Then after being charged, the libriarian has turned in her resignation. Police reports state that the librarian s*xual assualted the boy by having s*x with him several times. The boy played witness to the accounts of having s*x with her and that she coached him with alcolhol. Allegiations of her behavior began on May 19, 2009. She may face jail time and flop a few more hours doing some FINE time.

Wooooo! you missed too!

This next question is for me to do.

MIISRAEL, no cheating last time you hit with a hard thrust!

Here's the question:

What funeral trial has Memphis lawyers backed up with funds that were used up and flopped in a trust?

And the survey says!.....

FLOP!

THE THREE MEN AT FORREST'S HILL

In summer 2006, owners of The Forrest Hill Cementary announced publicy that it would no longer honor pre-paid funeral plans to families who had bought them. That's because these trust funds had been used in embezzlements. Mark Singer, Clayton Smart and Stephen Smith were all asscused of using funding , and not honoring policy holders their plans for funernal arrangements of their love ones. The pre-paid policies affected over 13,000 policy holders which caused many of them to pay out of their pockets, leaving them to flop the funeral bills out of their own pockets. The trial has been on-going with seeking negoations of all three men. Judge Otis Higgs is preceding the case is urging a plea deal. Two of the accused, Singer and Smith are released on bond, but the third man, Mark Singer is still in jail on a $500,000 bond. Judge Higgs has ordered the case on-going and continuance until January 04, 2010.

Nice try MIISRAEL! ...But's it my turn now.

Okay, Okay! I'm ready.. O' look at us we have a tie!

MIISRAEL--Zero ME- Zero

Sure do, but even the feet can be quicker than the eye!

Here's the tie-breaker question: Ready?

What's the politcian's name that keeps a pair of flip flops on his feet in the Mayor's game?

And the survey says....

FLIP!

WILLIE HERENTON: FLIP FLOP! NOW HE'S TAKING HIS FEET OUT OF THE MAYOR'S RACE!
Memphis, TN
08.24.2009
On a recent local radio talk show W.W. Herenton [former Memphis Mayor] stated that he's withdrawing his petition to run in the mayor's race. Herenton stated that he has decided to support the Shelby County Mayor, A.C. Wharton in the upcoming election. He said that Interim Mayor, Myron Lowrey would not win! He also made comments that if he stayed in the race he would be the winner, but has decided that he will opt out and support Wharton. He strongly speaks against Lowrey becoming Memphis's next mayor making an undercurrent of asumptions that he is not capable of handling the City of Memphis citizens in serves that are fair and with having good judgement of equality for the city's good. Many are not surprised at his pull of feet. He's been busy flipping and flopping so much that no one is really paying much attention to the former mayor's change of mind. Still, some are sick of his little flip-flop games!

This brings an end to this game of Family Feud.

Now I must admit is certainly was fun! I WON!

What did you win, MIISRAEL?

Here's the prize!

12 pairs of FLIP FLOPS!
DU...UH!

There are several terms in the meaning of

Flip Flops: A pair of shoes worn on beaches, to turn back forth over and over as in turning pages of a book or papers, to tumble, to change one's mind several times, and to toss and turn several ways while sleeping. Can you think of anymore?

WE'RE HAVING A FAMILY REUNION!

Yes, a family reunion. Each year thousands of families plan their family reunion around the Labor Day weekend. Families get together and do a lot of reminising, loving and and some come to settle differences--updating on old and new family issues. My family is having one around Labor Day too! If your family is or already had it's reunion,or your family reunion is soon; I hope these few tips and few suggestions may help you. It can be a even more enjoyable and agreeable time for you and yours --even if you're only aware of the time comsuption spent it making it happen.

It's always best to start planning for a family reuion as early as 1 or 2 years. That's right the more time for planning the more time you can spend making sure it can run smoothly. Things to consider are location(s), activities, food and celebration ceremony and even for some mode of transporation.

Take a list of who will be over committees. This gives a better spread of regions where you can locate family who have been out of contact. Updating a mailing list, getting telephone numbers and finding out about older generations or even family deaths. You'll be surprized how many times this information isn't passed on.

Committees will need to have family volunteers. You don't need to "dump" everything on one person, although there is need to have a specific contact person that will desinate Who?, What?, When?, and Where? you'll need to go when there's certain information you'll need to find out. However, never "over burden" an entire family of funtions to only one person! There may be a person in your family that would gloat on having the glory of that! That's in every family, but keep the democratic process that all members of the family are eligible to help out on other projects that will need attention. So pitch in!

Fees & Costs: Each family should be responsible for paying some costs. Usually voting with the family helps, but then you might run into trouble if single families feel they shouldn't pay the same fees as one with 5 children. So try possibly setting rates for family sizes can eliminate reasons to debate over paying a fee. Try to avoid family arguments, everyone in the family is required to pay something!

Picking a Location: Family groups will need to talk, meet, vote and decide the location(s) as well as the activitities families will attend. You want to make sure there is enough room for the planned attendance, and plenty of space for moving around. Close families can quickly get into conflicts if there is hardly not much space. I've seen this many times in my family gatherings. Kids can get bored, have a youth committee for younger family members too! Keep in mind hotel lodging is like a small get-a-away --instead of having everybody going over and loading up Aunt Jennie's house.

THE BIG DAY: Families arrive and are present for the big day of family bonding. You should have some kind of program, a talent show, who's the youngest, who's the oldest are just a few suggestions. Make sure that all family member registar with complete name of each household. If you're into family history, making a family tree of each family will aid in record keeping. This informaton should be kept by your designated family's historian. For the record, this is vital family history and should be stored in specific place maybe even in more than one place to make it more family accessible. Even using a record-keeping with computer will help. That process can come later though. Food will be served! Fun and games shared! Prizes and awards! And socializing with family are all great ways to have one the best time with your family. Many times in family reunions, a family member will remember if they felt left out, so make sure you have family greeters, and host and hostessess to make every one feel like
FAMILY. Be sure to bring a pair of flip flops!

I hope these few tips help out! There is SO much more you can do. Visit your local library for books on planning a family reuion, or even Google for sites that may give you endless tips and ideas! So, I'm done on this one. I consider you my family. Let's have a family reunion when the Lord returns. We'll get to see the Father and King.
