Early voters will have the chance to select their mayoral candidate starting today as the polls are opened from today: September, 25-October 10, 2009. There are 25 canditates running for mayor and of course, only one can be selected. The top running candidate presently seems to be Shelby County Mayor, A.C. Wharton but it's still way too early to call it a landslide. If you are interested in knowing where you can go to cast off your early voting line, call the Shelby County Election Commission for find and vote at the voting poll nearest you. ___________________________________

CONFERENCE
CELEBRATING 100 YEARS

The national group of the NAACP decided to hold it's conference in Memphis this year. The conference began its kickoff on Thursday, September 24, 2009. City leaders such as Maxine Smith and a host of church leaders are set to give the conference it's best support. Chapters of the NAACP are nation wide and many group members will be visiting and touring the city as well as the conference. The conference always offer ways for the advancement of colored people in urban, educational, and social renewal. This year the NAACP organization turned 100 years old. Still going and growing it's main purpose hasn't changed in meaning to aid and assist Afro-Americans and all people of color.

BREAKING IN SOMEONE ELSE'S HOME CAN BREAK YOUR
BONE!

An 18 year-old female student was subject to a break-in or invasion when two suspects were seen outside her apartment. The student said she heard noises outside and opened her curtain and screamed. Her loud screaming caused one suspect N. Rimmer to jump from the upstairs balcony of the apartment to the ground thus, breaking his leg. Later, his accomplice was also captured. The victim and suspect were former school mates. Police say that neighbors also played an important part in the capturing of the two.

Eye of the cameras are on commuters who pass through or live in Oak Ridge, TN. The small town has plenty high tech. Oak Ridge's new traffic enforcement cameras are watching you. Approximately every day, 30 drivers were captured on the all roving eye as they stoned over the speed limits which led to letters requesting a court date and a fine. There's no way out! The cameras are watching and clocking your speed. Speeders are asked to pay a $50 fine the same day, or if you wait or go home it's $122.00. Traffic tickets includes speeding, to running a traffic light. The locals there are trained, but those from out of town might be in for a stoning!
Those who have those fast cars, better shift that stick into low and slow!

Yes, that may be true. Then if you travel that way... [if ever,] you'll remember this this story and watch your speeding while passing through!

Then you'll wonder where you ever heard of that little town...those little cameras will still be around ....if your memory starts to fade. You might just be one in for a upgrade!

THE CAMERA'S EYE:
WHO'S BEHIND THE CAMS?
Nowadays, everywhere you travel, commute, visit and shop you'll find that there's someone watching you! It's an eerie feeling if you'll allow it to be. What has caused modern societies to bring in the all seeing camera's eye? I know that cameras have justified themselves as worthy. They have caught criminals, and even solved many mysteries of persons disapperances! Two thumbs up! Way up! They have a proven valor. However, when it comes to a little privacy, where if any; will we find it. The next thing that's certain to appear in cameras in your home, of which some people actually have home cameras installed even as I'm writing this article. So it's a home invasion of the camera's eye. Who's really watching us? I tend to think perhaps the cameras are already in our home. Just think about it---watching us in many ways, on our video machines, with televisions, and the eye of the windows of computers and web-sites. You are being watched my friend! So smile! The eye of the camera is on you. You might not know where they may stick it. But you're living in a glass house so don't throw stones. Maybe that game of Wii stands for "With two eyes" Okay, I'll keep my eye on heavenly things and my eyes are in the clouds. This has been MY NEWS BLOG. I welcome your comments. What do you think?
