Did Mary J Blige sing longest version of national anthem ever? (240 hits)

Now I'm joking when I ask that but many believe that Mary J Blige set a record for longest version of the Star Spangled Banner before game 6 of the 2009 World Series. Now don't get me wrong home girl ripped it but if I can run upstairs pop popcorn and get back before she finished singing....LOL. Why would they want Mary J to sing the Nat'l Anthem? I listened to her sing it, but I prefer it more like the traditional version with all the high notes not the R&B flavor. Of course I will have to say that Marvin Gay is the exception to this rule of mine [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRvVzaQ6i8A ]
Home boy was so cool with it. I loved Whitney Houston when she sang it --- more like the original way it is song --- but how people can hit those high notes [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBLDiviApCQ ] ?
