I watched this program the other night and I was profoundly disappointed. I'm all for supporting good black theatre. This however wasn't good. Once again this production was nothing more than man bashing at its best. Actor Clifton Powell (I have been a fan of his since his days on Roc) wasn't used to his full potential at all. Carl Payne (from Martin) was the show's comic relief, and don't even get me started with actress Vivica A. Fox. Her acting wasn't great, her clothes were too tight, and she set the sisterhood movement back a couple hundred years.
The writing was choppy, the story line was all over the place, and the loose ends never got tied up. The musical selections, where they were placed, and how they were placed made no sense. There was no fluidity.
There's A Stranger In My House is a BET production you can skip. I wish I had.
