The Queen's Chair: A Justified Shooting? (213 hits)

In my hometown, the jury is deliberating the fate of a black man, Roderick Scott, who shot a white teen in self-defense. Two 17-year-old youths were in his neighborhood at 3 a.m. and they were breaking into cars. The teens came on his property and were trying to break into his car. When he came out to inquire what was going on, the teen charged towards him. Scott shot the teen twice.

Later it was revealed that the teen had been drinking and had marijuana in his system. Scott was defending himself and felt that the teens were a threat to his and his family's safety.

My questions are: Why were they out so late to begin with? And they were breaking into cars? HELLO!!! That's a crime right there.

Scott's gun was a registered weapon. And I'm sorry if the teens meant no harm to him, why challenge the man when you are trespassing on his property ANYWAY?

I truly believe the shooting was justified and this man should be acquitted.
