Winning Strategies for 2010
Winning begins with getting in position. But even before that, you must put your "head" in the game.
I don't know if you saw the movie, "The Blind Side" based the book, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, by Michael Lewis. This is the remarkable true story of All-American football star Michael Oher.
The movie stars Sandra Bullock who plays Leigh Anne Tuohy. She spearheaded the adoption a troubled urban teen, "Big Mike." Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. But the family helps Michael fulfill his potential, both on and off the football field.
Though Michael had the capacity to be a star football player because of his sheer size and other gifts, he didn't see it. He did not know how to put his head in the game to win until he got a personal "AHA" moment and realized his own potential.
After his revelation, the rest, as they say, is history.
In our current economic state, we have a choice; we can participate and lose or play to win. But, you can't win if you don't pay attention, listen to coaches, get a personal revelation that YOU must make it happen.
You have to recognize the time, trends and opportunities - and honor your own talent and find a coach and a dream team to work with you.
Despite what's going on in your life - your talent is still intact and there is a team waiting for you to give them your individual undistracted attention to win.
To get your head in the game, you must do these five things in order
to win:
1. Have a Plan. Clarify your goals. Plan for victory. Know how to make it happen. If not, learn how to ask for help and know what you need. Habakkuk 2:2
2. Be Persistent. Winners never quit and quitters never win. Don't give up. Make a personal commitment to stay consistent. To follow through on your word, no matter what. Luke 18:1
3. Be Prepared.Study what the "leaders" are doing - Pay attention to their winning strategies. Model what they do and when the student is ready, the teacher (or coach, mentor) appears. Esther 4:14
4. Be in Position. Information will give you the "edge." Read books to help you get to the next level. Hunt and gather information to become an expert. Hosea 4:6
5. Brand better. Get packaged properly. Look the part. You can't get in the game and win with an ill-fitting uniform or wrong gear. Take the time to make sure you have a "winners" look, resources and reputation. James 2:20
Don't sit on the sidelines of life daydreaming and praying that things will get better.
Get off the bench, put your head in the game and play the game with your whole heart.
Get in the game. Give it all you got. Be inspired. Be innovative. Get creative.
Clear your mind of the cob webs of the past. Infuse your brain with new information. Read more, study more and you'll learn more. Once you learn more, you can do more and have more!
By planning, being persistent and preparing, you are putting yourself in position to cash in and win in 2010. It's a brand new year, get the right gear - and head towards the finish line with victory in your mind.
Can you see it? Can you smell it? Envision the victory. Taste the success.
Replace your fear - not with just faith - but with some bold moves.
Shake your fanny and get going!
