This is why we need to have a general healing between the sects of Islam. As African Americans we were made to hate one another. When a Black American heard that his Black American brother was chosen as prophet...the first reaction from a people that were slaves is " can't be" ..How can God choose one of us. They will have us rely on an Arab. But Sent an Arab to the Arabs. The Arabs love each other enough to accept their brother being chosen as God's prophet. But the Black man and woman in America has trouble because of the hatred of my people have for each other. Muhammad Ali had a quick tongue and sharp mentally while member of Nation of Islam under Messenger Elijah Muhammad. Muhammad Ali became one of the world greatest and he told the world of his support for the Messenger. Then the Messenger passes in 1975. He did not wait a year before he switched his belief that denounced the Messenger. Almighty God Allah chastised Muhammad Ali for this and today he can barely speak. What makes it so hard for Black American men to respect and love their own brother like other races do ? Does it take the One God curses a famous boxer for black Americans to realize that Elijah Muhammad was truly the last prophet of Allah. Is it because us black Americans were once slaves ? I never knew that Muhammad Ali had denounced his religion, but this can also show an example of how people who once prayed for your success can begin to pray for your downfall. I can remember visiting a church one Sunday, where there were very few members attending. The Pastors prayer didn't sound as thou he was wishing the absent members comfort until they returned.

Yes, its a strange form of trust...the kind that cannot stand being tested. After all, the absent members may have understandable reasons for not being present all the time. No reaso to jump to judgement and denounce. Remember going to Saviors Day in Chicago and Muhammad Ali was on the stage with Messenger Elijah Muhammad shouting along the thousands of guests"All praises is due to Allah for the Honorable Elijah Muhammad"...Ali was a very devout believer. Right after the Messenger passed and not present to witness Ali, he changed his tune. Even though Messenger Elijah gave his life meaning and generated a brotherhood with Muslims all over the world. He would still be Cassius Clay if not for Elijah Muhammad. His tongue was quick and he prayed the prayer taught by the Messenger before every fight. Today,..I can barely understand what he says. Joe Frazier and George Forman...can understand their speech and they walk normal....so what happen to the golden tongue Ali....GOD does not like the ungrateful.

I can't say what really happened, but I would think that it's hard to be so close to some one and continue to go to the same places that reminds you of them after their death. Lets say (for example) that you decide to make a change in your place of worship, you went to a different mosque instead the one you attend regularly. The people you once knew would feel that you had abandon them, they would start rumors or bad mouth you because the funds that you spent with them is now being collect at the other mosque.

Exactly...and in the case of Muhammad Ali being such a worldly figure, it would have been more damaging. Almighty God was apparently displeased so Muhammad Ali is unable to lecture or walk with any credibility. When you see Muhammad Ali, today, the first reaction is to pity him or feel sorry for him. An obvious turn from being quick and crisp with the rhymes and sayings. It is really too bad, because when he was with the Nation Of Islam, he was a star.

Best to speak with what we know....Muhammad Ali cannot talk and walks with major risk. Boxers are persons in shape...they make a point about it. What we know and the reason scientist exists is to make sense out of what non scientist take for granted or put off as a coincident. Why did the leaf fall from the tree....it turns out there was a reason. Joe Frazier can talk and I can understand him when he speaks. That is not a theoretical but fact. George Foreman can talk and you or me can understand him...so that is a fact. All were hit in the head. Muhammad Ali was cursed by Allah(God) because of his denouncing of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. He still prays to Allah(God) but the last messenger of Allah was Elijah and if a Black American accepts that at one time and rejects that at another time....there is a price to pay...and Muhammad Ali is paying that price. Apparently the ONE GOD wants him to be example for others.

First you must subscribe to reason and not the hypothetical. You mention that were have not been a member of the NOI...then lets both accept that...you don't know....I have been a member of NOI since birth. Not every member of NOI has been a global mouthpiece. Persons are over the world has heard of Muhammad Ali. When in Egypt, natives asked me have I ever met Muhammad Ali. The punishment must match the sin. Most people were not aware that Muhammad Ali had become a minister. As a minister of NOI, it carries a burden of responsibility. Beyond the raising of the dead...sort of speak...a minister that defects pays with his life. As a spokesman and a minister, Muhammad Ali had believers and would be believers subscribing to his dialogue. After he defected, meaning going AGAINST the teachings of the Nation of Islam, he gave up his right to live. At present, his life is not worth much living....its a type of punishment you would not wish on your worst enemy. A slow agonizing decay....apparently befitting his crime of one a devout spokesman for the Nation of Islam to condemning Messenger Elijah Muhammad as God Last messenger to reverting to the previous prophet a little over 1400 years ago. Muhammad Ali was fully aware that a Muslim must believe in All the prophets of Allah from Noah to Muhammad (Elijah) and not pick and choose which one he will acknowledge and which one he will deny. We are speaking about specifics here.....Malcolm X was also a minister of NOI. He also paid with his life. And there have been others. So think about, the last persons from France, Australia or for example Russia had heard from Muhammad Ali....when he was speaking fluently.....He was acknowledging the divine guidance of his leader and teacher the most honorable Elijah Muhammad. They will NEVER hear him speak otherwise in an intelligent manner. That is the bottom line.

Not to stir up old news but since I have happened to have similar conversations with a few brothers about this issue or God's punishment and a post NOI existence, I know that while this topic may not be currently discussed on this site, it is deeply at the heart of many even in 2013. For my part, all I can say is that brothers and sisters will continue to lose in this big racial warfar game that is being waged against us because we continue to permit (and shamefully with grand displays of pride and Godful purposeness) divide and conquer tactics to seperate us. For what ever reason that might occur, if a person feels they must move on from one school of thought, the notion that they should be punished is revolting and counter-productive.

Mr. Jawhir, What I know is that we Black American who are descendents of plantation slaves are not Arabian people and therefore we have no business in the ways and customs of the Arabian people. Just as God came to the Arabian people 1400 years ago and anointed Prophet Musafa Mohammed God has come to the race of Black Americans and anointed us a prophet as well. Just as God came and give Prophet Mohammed the religion of Islam only for the Arabian God has come and gave our prophet our religion as well and the name of our religion is LIFE and it means resurrection. Elijah Muhammad was wrong, W.D. Muhammad was also wrong. Mr. Farrakhan is wrong. Islam is not our religion. It was given to Mohammed and he gave it to his Arabian people and we are not Arabian people am I right. So, your argument about conversion, Sunni Muslims and the NOI are all moot do you understand me? You need to get yourself together! You all are not as wise as you think that you are! We Black Americans are going to become a sovereign people on a reasonable and fertile portion of this continent in my life-time, however we will not enter our country with other people religions as Islam and Christianity because we have our own religion.

Well Mr. Watley- what religion is it that I am supposed to be following? Sharing that knowledge might go a long way in helping me "get myself together" as you put it. Now as far as my point about the various sects being in too much turmoil and being in need of come type of "coming together" (perhaps in a similar fashion as many have asked gangs to draw up a truce) .. as far as that point being moot.. I can't see it being a moot point, when the fact of the matter is, that we as a community are continuing to exist in a dis-connected manner because of our differences.

Hello Mr. Jawhir, The name of our religion is called LIFE and it means resurrection. All religions come to the people through a prophet from the loins of the same people and this is the only way that it happens. The name of our religion is LIFE and it is the only means by which we are to unite as one people in my life-time and it is going to happen. God gave me our religion just as God gave Mohammed the religion of Islam for his Arabian. Our time to be a people and a nation in a country of our own having our own prophet and book has come. What Dr. King had as his religion belongs to the Jewish and European Gentile people and Dr. King was a Black American man who was a descendent of plantation slave. What Elijah Muhammad had as his religion belongs to the Arabian people and Elijah was not an Arab man, he was just like Dr. King a Black American man. Am I right?

Are you right? You would be deemed to speak factual information with regard to Dr. King being a Chrisitan (borrowed form of the Hebrew relgion) and that Elijah Muhammad taught from an Islamic perspective. Now as far as you being right, it stands to reason that all people are given a prophet of their own kind. What is up for debate (you being right) is based upon whether or not Elijah Muhammad was "our" prophet, which is what I was aware of as the view amidst those who follow him. Now as to whether or not the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) belongs to the Arabian people, there is woefully vast amounts of historical information to seed through in order to determine whether or not what most people commonly believe constitutes an "arab race" is accurate. Regardless of whether you are right or wrong, I think it interesting that you have completely disengaged from my original question so as to control the dialogue upon what you wish to discuss.

Hello Mr. Jawhir, Elijah Muhammad could not have been Black America’s prophet because he championed the Arabian way that he even embraced the Quran and Mr. Muhammad was not an Arabian man. Elijah was absolutely wrong and all the followers of his teachings today are wrong as well. Black Americans are not Arabian people. We no business practicing Ramadan. It will be me to lead us into our Promise Land. I am a prophet to Black Americans as Moses was to the Children of Israel. When we enter our Promise Land everything we have will be ours. We are divinely not permitted to have anything that belongs to others. We must have our own prophet, our own religion, and we will write our own religious book and prayers. I have our very first prayer. Now, what is your original question?

And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
