Esscence Magazine celebrating 40 years in 2010. In 2010 beginning in February with Black Hisdtory Month. The magazine will present many special features and events leading up to the September issue which will actually mark Esscence Magazine's 40th year. Read more here:

40 years! Wow! The magazine has changed a lot over the years. Wish they had a few less ads, but I've noticed other magazines filling more of their pages with ads to help pay the rent. I enjoy the Essence magazine segment on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Glad to see that Essence is still around although I think the magazine was meatier in the past.
