I'm not happy about this at all. When I do get to watch TV, there are a few shows that I enjoy. Ugly Betty is one of them. Based on a popular telanovela, this show stars Vanessa Williams, America Ferrara, Judith Light, and a slew of other talented Black and Latina stars is smart, witty, and cleverly written. I also enjoy the sprinkling of guest stars like Shakira. I've seen and discovered so many talented Latino supermodels, musicians, athletes, singers, writers and actors.
For me it has been great to see Betty (played brilliantly by Ferrara) evolve from geekdom into a smart and capable magazine editor. The bad guys are bad and funny. I love that this show focuses on a Latino family and displays their love and commitment for each other. I enjoy the bond between Betty and her boss, Daniel.
I wish ABC would stop moving this show. First it's on Thursdays at 8 p.m, then Fridays at 10 p.m., and now Wednesdays at 10 p.m. No wonder the show's ratings are dropping. Who can find the show if the day and time keeps changing?
I'm hoping this show can be saved. When a good show works, the networks need to leave it alone.
