In the 1960s the nation of Islam was going strong climbing to the top of attracting the attention of Black America. Joe Tex came on board announcing the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was Gods man. But Michael Jackson and James Brown figured they had a captive audiance. That the not all white people were devils. Hell, they both desired to marry the devil. Forget the nation of Islam they both thought. But Allah had other plans. And Allah is God. Without the love of self that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was teaching, there was no core center of reference for Michael Jackson or James Brown. Neither could ever find themselves. Especially, Michael....changing his nose, cheek, skin....ended up looking like a fool....like a Joker......because Michael thought he could do a BETTER JOB WITH MONEY....then almighty God done with divine creation. The teachings of Elijah Muhammad that instilled black pride....black love of self and kind.....self-reliance.....respect for others but love of self....has proved to even this day .....a superior wisdom. Now we are at a point of nationhood and it will take of love of Black Americans for one another to sustain the type of growth that the ONE God demands. Harry, they disburbed God children.....now, the record must be set STRAIGHT. The One God uses people as examples to demonstrate the end result of contentiousness. Michael Jackson even had to run away to a Muslim country, trying to fine peace...but, there was none. James Brown in and out of jail.....How rediculous to produce a song "Say it Loud...I'm Black and I'm Proud"....yet comes up married to a white woman.....Michael Jackson....thought he too would smack the Muslims in the face by marrying the white woman.....But, in the end.....Michael Jackson....is viewed as a perfect fool.....not sure..what he looks like....but, what young black youth would want to LOOK like that....NO ONE>>>>>>These were both fine examples of men that did NOT know themselves.......and that to know thyself is to love thyself.....Because you never can escape the "self" that you were created.

Good Point Sis. Theresa....the youth are smarter than many would think. Living one life and singing to profess another will only foil youth for so long.....But James Brown was deliberate in his actions.....and with so much talent he really could have been a beacon of solidarity for Black people growing up in the latter 1900s but he chose to play both sides of the fence. So he fooled himself in the end and the teachings of the messenger Elijah Muhammad stands that Black is wonderful not because of a song but because of who we really are....the original inhabitants of planet earth.

The fact is that with all the money that Michael Jackson had...he was unable to makeover his face to "become" better then it was before he started messing with it. That is the big point. Michael Jackson came from Motown....the soul of Detroit....all Detroit new of the Nation of Islam...it was a major hub......no black American was immune.....downtown Detroit...Muslim FOI was at every major intersection.....Muslims went into the projects....the worst of housing in ghetto detroit and went door to door. For Michael Jackson to come out of that era and the Indiana, Michigan area and not care whether you black or white.....he was deceiving himself.......Michael deceived the masses.....The Nation of Islam preached the love your black self...as oppose to trying to change self.....Michael Jackson stood for changing self....and HE LOST......no human being would want to look like Michael Jackson when he died.....no one in his right mind.

Brother Jamal, I have come to a frightening conclusion. I'm sorry brother, but for the first time in my life on BIA, I must say that Harry is RIGHT about this matter. I believe that James Brown and Micheal Jackson were Gods! I believe they both Christ like and Messianic figures! I LOVED the August 4, 2009 cover of the Final Call newspaper featuring Micheal Jackson. And I'm glad that our leader Min. Farrakhan told the truth about his friend in his speech "The Crucifixion Of Micheal Jackson." In a way you can compare them both to Elijah Muhammad! James Brown gave us the song "Say It Loud I'm Black and I'm Proud" and Michael Jackson gave us the song "They Don't Care About Us", and both of them were saying things in their music that no other black male entertainer had the guts to say. The NOI teaches us that every time you look at a black man you are looking at God. For those who claim James Brown and Michael Jackson were not Gods are removing themselves from all substance linked to what Elijah Muhammad taught. Doesn't the Qu'ran (and this is in the Bible also) warned us that God would not necessarily reveal his word by the wise and prudent man, but by babies in the word? There, I rest my case.

Sis. Siebra, even the best of friends disagree upon occasion...and this is one case....The Holy Quran says that the blind and the seeing are NOT alike. Michael Jackson was blind as evidence in his blunder...we are not talking about talent....this blog is not about the obvious talents of Michael Jackson or James Brown...But they both were blind black men....If Michael Jackson was going to marry a white woman...he perhaps picked the most ugliest white woman he could find.....only speaking for myself if I were to go out on the limb and marry a white woman being wealthy, she would be the prettiest, reasonably wealthy woman I could find not to mention nice....but, the white woman that he picked is one of many proofs his eyes were closed, then he put all his trust in whites and none in blacks till he was in trouble and needed FOI protection. The Pepsi Cola commercial accident....when did such an accident happen to white entertainers....that was a turning point for Michael needing pain killers for ever more. Almighty God Allah had turned from Michael since he turned for wanting to be black and was burnt on his scalp. He never acknowledged messenger Elijah Muhammad....Every tub must stand on its own bottom.....Jermain, Min Farrakhan, Randy or nobody can attest for Michael Jackson....Only Michael...and he acknowledged the success of the Muslims in America...so there is no positive connection. After the messenger passed it is too late....Michael Jackson already had his chance and he snuffed the teachings....there is no way around it....he cut his nose.....he changed his chin.....his hair was changed....his color was changed.....there is NO GOOD in that....no matter how you slice it. I liked the talents of Liberace and his piano playing....but would not to emulate him being gay......

Clark, when you consider that there was never a time in Michael Jackson's life that he wanted to marry a black American Woman. Now, his mother was black...what was going on in his mind to see all those beautiful black women that admired him....but to purposely marry other than black women was no accident....Please..this was deliberate. Black women was nothing more to him but a potential consumer of his music.

Brother, I agree that there is no good in Micheal changing his facial features but it is a known fact that those who have experienced racism like Michael, they are the ones who can fully understand why. Even if others haven't endured racism like Michael and many others, any victimization should help others to understand, and our people have and still being victimized. Michael was terrorized by his father as a child, and in the music he made in the days leading up to his death he speaks about pain, which Michael had a lot of, and our people still do too. Do I see Joe Jackson as a terrorist? You're DAMN RIGHT I do. I am blessed to have never been abused, however, abused children know the evil ones among them. Under no circumstances are we to physically beat and punish our children to get them to do something done. Our people have been taught well on how to terrorize our children through abuse. There is absolutely no harmony and balance in abuse. What Joe Jackson did (abuse) was the oppressors way of getting something done. I will make you or break you. When you are a child under this type of terrorist authority you comply or die. Beloved Michael was terrorized mentally and physically. No matter how much money he made, it did not cure the traumatic trauma his own daddy did to him. Michael had to find temporal happiness in the way he knew how. It is sad that one has to die to get the peace and joy they should have had while living on earth. It is sad to live and not truly live. So you see, it's not just the white supremacy (racism) that played a part, Joe Jackson had a part in the death of Michael too, and when the whole Jackson family stop fearing Joe Jackson and unite and tell all, we will FINALLY see the devil for who it is. Joe Jackson had PTSD (POST-TRAUMATIC SLAVE DISORDER) in high places pushing him too, which makes him a victim also, and oftentimes the abused abuse others. I hope that Michael's death bring Joe Jackson to a conscious moment that will make him cry and confess his wrong doings to Micheal and the other children. As far as Michael's mother Katherine, her silence in what happened contributed to Michael's emotional pain. See what happens when we fear? PEOPLE DIE AND WE BECOME CORPSES OURSELVES. We are religiously taught to "Honor your Mother and Father, so your days may be lengthy on this Earth". But there are some mothers and fathers of today that do not even deserve honor. I will always hate the evil minded thoughts, conduct, behavior, and actions of a abuser, and the institution that caused our people to be this way. When we abuse our children that reveals that we lack the mental capacity to fully understand alternative ways. Now we can fully understand Michael changing his facial features and associating himself with Peter Pan.

Points you bring up are very true, Sis. Siebra, that added complications to Michael's troubled life. Joe jackson compounded problems for his son, no doubt. But, once Michael turned 18 and on his own and 25 and further detached from his father...the excuse of his father is beginning to fade...though the effects had been set. As long as youth of today understand the consequences of allowing the love of money and fame to change their face, their personal image, their soul.....the let the legacy of Michael Jackson live on.

The Brainwashing you mention, Clark, was the challenge to Black Nationalism and its rise in the early 1900s. By the time the 1960s rolled around, The Nation of Islam was making a move into every fabric of society, from the commodities( with HOW to EAT TO LIVE) to the music industry (Albums and 45 records). There was enough meat out there for any hungry black youth the age of Michael to sink their teeth into if he wanted to....Pulling power is a big deal ....and the reason for the blog..is that Michael Jackson and James Brown had pulling power...they could pull big crowds like Messenger Elijah Muhammad....differance is that Neither James Brown had anything to say.....Only Elijah Muhammad had something to say......But the stunning power was comparable.....The wisdom of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was so stunning to Black Americans who actually heard him speak......it was captivating....it was breathtaking...the way the messenger emphasized words and just what he spoke from Allah....it was monumentous. Much like watch James Brown in his day....James Brown was amazing....a talent beyond belief....and Michael Jackson...his moves..his rhythm has a uniqueness attributed to mastery but.....the Messenger said that a God is "power and force"....so they were not Gods.....but they were people of enormous talent.

Praise be to Allaah Alone, and prayers and peace be upon the last Messenger Mohamed. It is IMPOSSIBLE to translate AlQur'aan in a way that resembles the accuracy of its expressions, its lofty style, carefully-selected wording, and symmetrical meanings. Besides, the translation will never show the inimitability of AlQur'aan, point out its legal rulings and teachings, or reveal its original meanings. These are all peculiar and unique characteristics of AlQur'aan which are derived from its perfect eloquence and rhetorical rhythms. If a person tries to imitate AlQur'aan in this respect, his attempt will be aborted. He will be just like a person who wants to fly high in the sky without wings or apparatus! All his attempts will go in vain. The translator can express the meanings of AlQur'aan in other languages so that he could point out to non-Muslims the guidance of AlQur'aan, the rulings deduced from it, and the lessons learnt from it. Yet, he should NOT consider such translation as AlQur'aan; in itself. It should NOT be considered as a replacement of AlQur'aan in any respect. It is merely a counterpart of the explanation of the meanings of AlQur'aan with the aim of facilitating such meanings and deducing the legal rulings. The translation of the meanings of AlQur'aan is an explanation for it, but it is not AlQur'aan itself; according to the unanimous agreement of Muslim Scholars. The legal rulings on AlQur'aan do not apply to the translation of its meanings. Therefore, it is not permissible to read the translation of AlQur'aan during prayer. This applies to surat Al-Fatihah and any other Qur'aanic surahs. A Muslim must learn the essential surahs required for worshipping Allaah such as Al-Fatihah. If he does not know surat Al-Fatihah in Arabic, he should praise Allaah, glorify Him, and say "There is Nothing worthy of worship but Allaah" during his prayer until he learns how to recite surat Al-Fatihah in Arabic. Besides, reading the translation of the meanings of AlQur'aan is not to be considered as an act of worship. But a Muslim should read it in order to understand the rulings of Islaam. He should also read translated Hadeeth books in order to know the Islaamic rulings and teachings. He should select a book on the Islaamic faith in order to learn the pillars of faith to which the Companions and the good ancestors committed. He should do his best in order to learn Arabic so as to understand the texts of AlQur'aan and the Prophetic Sunnah in the language in which they had been revealed. Shaikh Al-Islaam Taqiud-Din Abu Al-‘Abbas Ahmad bin Taymiyah said that the best way for explaining AlQur'aan is by employing AlQur'aan itself, because what is generalised in one place is detailed in another and what is summed up in one place is elaborated in another. However, if you are unable to explain AlQur'aan in this way, you should refer to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (as) as it is an explanation and a clarification of AlQur'aan. Furthermore, Imaam Abu 'Abdul-Allaah Mohamed bin Idris Ash-Shafi'i said that all the instructions and the rulings of the Messenger of Allaah (as) are the sum and the outcome of his understanding of AlQur'aan.
