Salutations!
During this weekend of the celebration of the Resurrection, there's an array of variety for your television/DVD viewing. You might want to check your local listings, but perhaps you can take a visit to your classic video shelf or your favorite computer's on-line movie features to see what's among the classics. There are too many, but some of my favorites are
^The Greatest Story Ever Told 1965-- stars Max Von Sydown portraying the life of Christ. Most bibical in my opinion...
^ The Robe 1953--stars Jean Simmons, Richard Burton and Victor Mature. This classic itroduces you to CinemaScope which was a filming process back in the day. The storyline is where the robe of Jesus was handed down to a murderer..Guess who?
Jesus of Nazareth--1977 based on the televison series. Many found this movie series one of the most touching and faithful due to it's delicate expression of how the film concentrated on the life of Jesus. Directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
Let's not forget...
Jesus Christ Superstar! 1973 Musical rock opera that Andrew Lloyd Weber made famous on stage and in the movie and in recordings. The film's version of music soundtrack sound millions. Great sounds!
and of course one the greats
The Passion of The Christ --Mel Gibson make of this movie caused world wide fame and was one of the most popular Christ made movies ever known.
Now there's plenty but you might can catch some of these on your cable and tv channels along with many others...
Lastly... Shown mostly at Easter is Cecil B. Demille's
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS! --Charleston Heston played Moses! One of his most prominent roles ever!...It's almost tradition to watch.
Well, you'll find some if you seek. Find the time and sit down with friends and family. It's surely classic!
