Jayne Kennedy was born in Washington, DC on October 27, 1951. She began her career as a beauty pageant contestant, and in 1970 was crowned Miss Ohio USA, making her the first African American woman to win the title. Here is a glamorous black woman that endorses the black family. Its OK. How many white men hit on her? How many thousands ? How many times did Jane Kennedy have to say "no". And yet say "yes" to the Black man. It can be done. These are the type of images that young black ladies need to be aware. That do not have to sell themselves to the white man, now that slavery is over. The Eartha Kitt, Lola Falana, Della Reece and others gave in the the snake. But this was there choice that they must have to answer to. Almighty God Allah is just to man and woman. He chastises according to the extent of the evil. So Lola Falana was stricken with multiple scierosis. Soon after the show was cancelled in 1987, she suffered a major setback; a relapse of multiple sclerosis. Falana's relapse was severe; her left side was paralyzed, she became partially blind, and her voice and hearing were impaired. It is best for a black woman if out as a role model for other women to convey a positive image to other young black women growing up and will be hit on by these white college boys and white co-workers. Jane Kennedy proved that you can be beautiful and smart and charming and still stick with the Black Man. Today, shelooks healthy to me...What do you think ? It turns out there are consequences to each of our actions, no matter how subtle. Free Will can be a luxury or a curse, depends on how we use it or abuse it. You raise a point, Clark, Diana Ross seems to be alright on the "outside". I'm not sure how happy she is on the inside. She use to be the life of the party in Detroit.

Jamal don't exclude those who aren't so glamorous outside, but have glamorous insides where it really counts. Real beauty is more skin deep. These black women are strongly committed to the black mates.

Trust me when I say... Iove the black man.... But as a single female, I also find it discouraging tor run across black me who seem to not have their s*#@ together. As I stated earlier I believe there are some good brothers ou there.... but going back and forth with men of no substance get's tiring.
Jamal it's discouraging to have all this patience for my nubian king.... when he doesn't know which direction he is going...

So True, Miisrael.., black women with beauty beneath the skin has been the core of what black strength exists. We certainly cannot discount this group. Even still, beautiful black women must rely on common sense convictions to retain her pride in black self and dignity.

There's no denying Jane Kennedy, Eartha Kitt, Lola Falana, and Della Reece paid some dues.
Like Diana Ross....it wasn't necessarily their careers but their persona that attracted people.
These sisters have a creative side of them that is real attractive to me in an earthy kind of way.

Leslie Uggams, Eartha Kitt, Della Reece and Lola Falana each were glamorous minority females in America that lit up the stage in the 60s that got swept up in the stardom hipe and gave in to the pressures of interracial mixing and/or marriage. Preservation of the lion species and preservation of the Black American species is similar in nature and necessary for the humanity.

It means that these women have been tainted, i.e., their womb has been made unclean and unpure from interacting with the blue-eye caucasian. My suggestion for young black male and adults is to go after the virgin, if not the virgin...then a black women untainted and unspoiled........

This whole conversation is rather hysterical to me.
Methinks that the Black male who initiated this conversation would do much better and be much more productive and EFFECTIVE if he places his well-meaning energy on the 'Black Male'.
There are some big time issues there, my friend.

Sis. Faith, certainly not trying to excuse black men for our problems. And we have enough of them. This blog is more to address many of our young sisters growing up having a hard time with female role models in the fashion, entertainment, modeling industry being young and beautiful. Point is that a sister can be young and beautiful and still have convictions. Convictions meaning a "strong belief system"

Yes, Jamal, that is a super relevant conversation to have. But that anonymous 'robert' person has a lot of weak bollos on him putting the brunt of the problem for the problems of the black male in the lap of the black woman. LOL! In retrospect, I regret even giving him the time of day with a response.
Nonetheless, keep on keepin' on and keep the scattoligical finger pointing to a minimum.
It would be super duper he we could discuss real issues with the end game being finding real solutions.

One small historical and social point, the paganChristian did not bring a black man or woman to America.
He brought an animal to work his Nation, an animal with 2 arms, 2 legs and great reproductive abilities and cheap. NO paganChrisitan considered an African a man or a woman.

slaves had no family or virgins or wives or children to be. The slave that got the best price was the masterChristians boy or girl.....
thats what we had from 1492-1864; then after 1865 the paganChristian was MADE to say, "YU IS BLACK MAN and BLACK WOMAN".
the mothers of those Africanslaves did not say we will give Our babies their Mother Tongue or Culture butwe will raise some more paganChristianpicannies.......
So in 2010 stop CRYING black/white and either be American or........
