End the two wars: Save the Economy. (616 hits)

What most of you don't get is that the war and the economy is closely connected. I think I posted here sometime ago excepts from the "Art of War" which is the oldest book on war in existence. The book warns through a metaphor of comparing war to a poison drug only to be taken as antidote like snake venom is used a cure to snake poison. The Art of war talks about war draining the economy eventually and destroys the morale of the country.

Mr. Obama came in touting "Anti-War" rhetoric and this made him a star very quickly. He promised to bring the troops home and fix the economy but both of them are unfulfilled promises. The stock markets are jittery as long as the war is going on investors will be slow to invest because bad war news or a terror attack could send the market down along with any stock prices. The job market is ocourse tied to the stock market as most businesses are part of industries that have their shares invested in the stock market. You can't create jobs when employers are worried adding new workers will turn bad because you will be spending more on labor than you receiving in profits. With no huge profit margins to give to investors Executives are freezing all hiring. Now the new investment has become cheap labor or slave labor as Executives have ordered layoffs and created a boss's market. Where workers are forced to work two jobs thus causing morale of the country to go down. People are over worked and are nervous about losing their jobs so spending is down. But the profit in the economy now is saving money on labor thus making labor the profit and not the sell of goods or services.

So what I'm saying is that as long as the war goes on in Iraq and Afghanistan we will be sinking deeper and deeper into economically uncertainty. So is Mr. Obama right to fight for Healthcare Reform while many Americans don't even have a job? Or that the morale of Americans is so low soon most will become sick. Sick of not having a job, sick of the huge debt they can't repay, sick of being overworked at jobs that have had huge layoffs of their co-workers, sick of worrying if their sons or daugthers will come home or come home wounded for life. Isn't it time we just turned back the clock? 9//11 wouldn't not have occured if Mr. Bush was doing his job. And the supposively responsible have been captured, killed or punished. Then why is the war still going on? Isn't it time America moved on and re-captured it's stability?

Brother John,

You make the solution for solving the situation of the economy and the joblessness in America sound so simple, infact too simple. I can appreciate your take on this matter, but I believe that the problem is a lot more complicated. What I can say is that I agree that people in high places are profiting and will continue to profit off these wars both abroad and here at home.

I believe that President Obama is trying earnestly to do the right thing, but when there are so many corrupt people in Congress trying to sabotage his efforts, it will take people like you and me to raise our voices and call upon our elected officials and hold them accountable to the American people's interests.

Health Care Reform is a plus for us because we all need access to health care regardless to whether or not we have jobs. The big kicker for me is just having access doens't address the corrupt pharmaceudical companies who make the life saving drugs unaffordable to the American people & who lobby the government (FDA) to make bogus claims that buying cheaper drugs from Canada is unsafe. Now that's the bigger problem.

True Maxwell what you type is right on the money. Lol. Some don't get it that the economy and the war are tied at the hip. As long as the war progresses the stock market will not go up because investors are scared to invest big. No one will invest huge amounts of money right now even Banks are limiting who they loan money to because they scared the person will lose their job and can't pay it back or go default on the loan for some reason related to the current crisis.

I agree with you totally on the "fighting terror" and it's true the so-called war on terror has become the boogey man that gets people hyped up to fight and die for the rich to get richer.

Obama promised to end the war but like every other American President he's a puppet. Everyone black supporting Obama out of some loyalty are fools because Obama isn't loyal to anyone let alone the American people. Mr. Obama is too afraid he will get ran out of office, assassinated or have his kids lives threaten to be an effective ruler. This country is ruled from the Banks and then by the corporations then your corrupt Congress. The president is so far behind the chain of command of what happens here that's why this system will soon self destruct into civil war.

John, you make the case....but President Obama will be hard pressed to concede his campaign promise on the troop withdrawel because of one big reason...arrogance. Should America back down, it would appear that she is weakening to the world which would certainly energize the Koreans and Chinese. Then the Middle East muslims would feel victorious and spur stronger Islamic unity among countries.

This puts the president is a catch 22...damn if he does and damn if he doesn't. Now, I can understand why Pres. Bush was so happy to leave the white house for the African American to figure out.

[This country is ruled from the Banks and then by the corporations then your corrupt Congress.]

Perhaps this country used to be ruled by these entities and on that notion, I will have to agree to disagree with you Bro. John.

This country is in for a change and although change maybe slow, it is inevitable. I don't believe President Obama is a puppet. If he were, I don't believe he would be trying to introduce finance reform.

Jen....and all others whom don't believe Obama is a puppet. Every American President is a puppet meaning that someone behind the scenes pulls their strings and calls the shots. While the public is deceived to be the President is the most powerful man on the planet.

As far as betrayal the American people have already been betrayed especially those who voted for Obama believing that a single man can change a corrupt system. We ran away from and hated the Republicans yet we will find the Democrats to be more corrupt than the Republicans. For instance, Healthcare Reform isn't Healthcare Reform because it lacks any teeth to change our current Healthcare industry that is making money off of sickness and death. It only masks their evil plot to exploit and profit off of our demise.

As far as Finance Reform please Mr. Obama isn't going to create any rule of law to stop the greedy from taking everything. What will end up happening is by the time the law reaches his desk like Healthcare Reform it will have lost all of it's teeth and full of so many holes the greedy will exploit it more than the last law. Lol.

Yes Mr. Obama is in for quite a betrayal anybody should know when you place that many enemies around you that he did in the name of Bipartisian he's a complete fool not to know a backstabbing is coming.

Brother John,
As I stated before, I'm ok with the fact that we disagree.

But you disagree on what grounds? How can you say the War isn't the primary reason the Economy is nearing collapse? What is the more complex issue with the economy you speak of? You can't offer an opposing opinion with detail then you are just opposing to be opposite.

General Colin Powells' mantra, " YOU BROKE IT YOU FIX IT"

In the recent past......

The United States administration of Eisenhower overthru an Elected Government in Iran in 1952. Then installed a "Shah"--king----then jimmy carter wanted to give Shah nuclear weapons -- then Soviet Union invaded next door neighbor in Afghanistan -- another actorRR Hired OsamaIbnLaden to terrorize the soviets with American Tax Money and Weapons.

Then the actor paid Bathist Sadaam Hussein to invade Iran. then Bubba let Kuwait steal Iraqi oil and --- its broken so Our Leader President Baraka Hussein Obama HAS to FIX IT

and the Greatest President Democracy has ever Produced, Will.

Alcohol is Haram, and banned for Man from Allaah.

I have never drank alcohol(sans 8th grade stupidity once).

I am OLD but I Work for Our President Baraka Hussein Obama, giving fact to ignorance, and I should have a new child this year, if Allaah wills.

so alcohol is the reason for your limited scholarship?
